I have purchased 5 toyotas in the last 16 years. Basically up until now I've always owned and loved toyotas. To be specific I have leased 2 trucks, bought 2 through dealerships and the first one I purchased as a private sale. I was very displeased with my last experience with toyota financial services. First item was the harrassment about insurance. I put the required insurance on my vehicle when I first leased it. Which was all fine until a couple years later I receive a notice that my vehicle has inadequate insurance. How can it be inadequate if It's been okay for 2 years. So I contact your service department and sure enough the required insurance has been modified from the original contract. So being it was only a few dollars more to increase it I called my insurance company and increased to the now revised terms. I thought all was fine except I received statement about every 3 months always stating the same thing. I had my insurance company refax my policy declaration several times which never seem to accomplish anything. So last fall I decide to purchase my toyota tundra from a lease. I go to the dealership and pay the vehicle off in full. Well apparently the lapse in time between when the dealership submits the payment and your company posts it is enough so that my account goes 30 days past due. I get a curtesy call from your company and I explain my position. The lady wanted me to make the payment even though I had already paid off the vehicle in full at the dealership. I said no way I already payed the full amout due at the dealership. So this month I'm applying for a mortgage to refinance my house. I see a late payment post on my credit report. Thats the last straw for me. I can't imagine I'll ever finance a vehicle through toyota financial service again.

Contacting the CEO actually seemed to have helped

I noticed the email address from the CEO in another report so I said what the heck. I emailed him. Well today I got a letter in the mail from one of his executive assists. Supposedly the late payment is going to be removed from my credit report. Course its probably still going to cost me money due to a higher interest rate for the next 30 years. But at least it might save me some down the road. The insurance thing is basically history and doesn't really affect me much anymore since I no longer lease my vehicle through them.
