Transcription Express I was looking into moving to Gilbert, AZ, and considering this company. I am glad I didn't after reading the first report written about this scam company. It seems like they underpay their employees and try to cover it up. And what legitimate company makes you pay for training? ripoff Gilbert Arizona

This sounds like a big scam and it sounds like somebody who owns some sort of interest in this company wrote the reponse to why this place seems ok. From what the first person wrote, this place isnt ok, it is a scam. And I can't imagine working from home making no money. That would defeat the purpose. And if this isnt a job to support a family, why even do it in the first place? And their contract sounds like a big scam I wouldn't sign either. Sounds like the company is out to make a profit at the expense of the poor person who gets suckered into working for them. Who works for a company that doesn't pay for your training? What a huge scam, was looking into moving and working here, glad I am not going to do that at all!

How do you do it?

I've been with them about six months now.
I am a pretty fast typist but I'm only at 60min/day and I only average $4.50 - 6.50/hr. I went up to 75 but found I couldn't keep up. I do have a lot of interruptions (4 teenagers and a cat) but also, I find that a large portion of the audios are barely audible and it shouldn't take 2 hours to do a 15 minute audio right? Am I just taking too much time verifying (addresses, names, etc.). I'm considering quitting but the pro's (working in my jammies, not having to put gas in my car, etc.) are very good incentives. Idk, maybe you can give me some pointers. I haven't even paid any taxes yet; how can I at approx. $5/hr?
I don't know if it's a scam per se but I bet they make a h**l of a lot of money off of us! $6/mo for 125+ transcriptionists for their voice mail = $750/mo. You can't tell me that's how much they have to pay for this service. They could just email us at no charge.
And...$500 is pretty steep for the initial investment (VoiceScribe)!
Anybody???

Not a scam at all

I've been working for TEI for 2 years end of October. Yeah, you have to fight to get enough work to make full time money, but the pay is consistent, and if you're willing to work full time, like I am (around 7 hours a day) you'll make around $2,000 a month. Most of their subcontractors are only interested in working a few hours a day so they make less money. It's piece work (you get paid by the page) but averaged out, I make about $17 an hour - not bad for at home in my jammies.
Again, I'm not the norm - most of their subs are full time mommies, part time typists, and if you want full time work you have to make sure the office staff knows it and believe me, they'll give you as much as you can handle! No place is perfect, but I've stuck it out this long because it works for me and my family. Would I like to make more per page? Duh. Oh, and they DO NOT charge for training - it's free, lasts 4 days, and then you go "live". You aren't paid for your time, but again, you're a SUBCONTRACTOR, not an employee. Taxes are your responsibility and all that, so you shouldn't expect to get paid for training.

Anyone with half a brain will check it out for themselves, and not rely on my word... or yours.
You should also look up the word "slander."
