Would use a moving company that told you they don't trans-ship and had their driver hold your belongings for ransom? Well that what happened to me.

On May 31st 2016 Union Moving picked up my belonging in Irvine CA to be moved to Fort Lauderdale FL. I hired them based on an estimate they did not honor, they charged me an additional $700.00 on site; frankly it was too late to cancel having already paid them a $345.00 non refundable deposit and having taken the day off from work. The additional charges were based on their miscalculation of space on their truck v. my shipment. This is after I had gone over the inventory with them countless times over the phone with the box sizes, count, and number of pieces of furniture.

On June 8th 2016 I called Trans Union from Florida to check up on the shipment to find out that the shipment had NOT left California because they didn't have a full truck but it would be on the road by June 10th 2016. On Sunday June 12th I received a call from their driver ****** who told me he had my belongings and didn't know what to do with them, he could not deliver to Florida because he did not have a full truck and he would not drive a half empty truck across the country and lose money. I asked "why are you calling me and not Trans Union"? He did, but Trans Union told him it was Sunday and they could not help him.

In short I paid ****** $300.00 in CASH to deliver my belongings to my warehouse in Corona CA on Sunday and brought my guys in at time and half to unload the truck. So it COST $1422.00 to move my belongings from Irvine to Corona approx 15miles. This does not include airfare to Florida and the overtime to my guys. In fairness, Trans Union offered me a discount and to re-pickup my belongings; but frankly after everything that happened would you TRUST this company with your personal possessions. Not me! I was done.

Confusion

AUTHOR: Alisher - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 07, 2018

Mr. Pisano booked the move with TransUnion van lines to move from Irvine, CA to Fort Lauredale, FL. Mr. Pisano was estimated 286 cf, but when moving crew arrived he ended up having more items and bigger size of furniture. Before loading furniture in to the truck, we did a visual revision, and we informed the customer of changing the size of the move. Also customer had fragile items that needed to be packed.

He had am elevator and long carry which is extra charges and it was explained upfront. We dicused the pricing and signed all paperwork. Mr. Pisano paid $650 partial payment at the pick up and $345 deposit upon booking the move. After two weeks we loaded the shipment to our subcontractor carrier for a delivery. Carrier called the customer for a delivery information.

Mr. Pisano told that he will give the driver $300 in cash, if he will take the shipmnet to his storage fasility in Corona, CA. Which the driver did. After that, Mr. Pisano called us and demended full refund. When he had all our moving pads that cost $7 each (30 moving pads), and we told him that we had used packing materials which was non-refundable.

We dont know what really caused him to act this way, but we processed our job accordingly to the contract and DOT regulations. I think the main reason for Mr. Pisanos actions were that he wanted to get free move or there were some changes in his move and he wanted the money back. We tried to resolve the complaint directly with Mr. Pisano but he would not talk to us and was very agressive and rude.

We tried to resolve misunderstanding with the customer but even it can be seen from the complaint of mr. Pisano that we offered him to come and re-pickup all his belongings and offered to him a discount for inconvinience but he refused to find a common solution. Transunion Van Lines really tried to resolve this matter and keep the customer happy but customer did not even wanted to talk to us and now just posting bad reviews everywhere. On other reputable sources such as BBB the case was already resolved to our favour and was removed from Yelp.
