I received an advertisement fax regarding a special deal for Cancun vacation to my company's fax machine from Travelcomm in which they stated that they are the Human Resource Department sending this fax to all employees (the sending of unsolicited advertising by means of telephone facsimile machines is contrary to both Federal and Florida Statues. Specifically, U.S.C. 227 and Florida Statute 365.1657). I thought this is a special deal for my company. I called Travelcomm in June, 2006 to make a reservation for that vacation package. The rep asked me for the date and time I want to travel. I gave them the date as March 31, 2007 to April 5, 2007. The rep gave me the list of the available hotels to choose from. I chose Omni hotel. The rep told me that the cost for the package of 5 nights/ 6 days to Cancun at that hotel for 4 people is $840. I agreed with them that the all inclusive package at Omni for 5 nights/6 days for 4 people at the price of $840 and is not refundable. As they said they will record the conversation, I agreed on that with no problem.

They transferred me to 4 different people to confirm back and fore about the package which few people know that the choice of my date and hotel, and the price I had to pay. I did not remember who I talked to since they transferred me to too many people to record.

Couple weeks later, I received the paper from Travelcomm, asking to fill out a form and pay an extra $198 for the hotel tax (Under the law, a business cannot change a deal once a customer has signed up and agreed to one price). I sent Travelcomm the check for $198, and called the rep whose named is Vick as requested. He sent me a form asking me to sign and fax it back to him. In the form, it stating that an extra fee might be applied depends on the date and time of travel. Since I have already selected my date, and hotel, and paid what they asked me to, I thought that extra fee is not applied to me because everything was taken care of.

Today, 11/20/2006, I call back to ask for the confirmation to send to me so I have some documents when I go on the trip. I talk to Vick again, he tells me that the hotel has not been reserved for me yet, and that Omni is not available on the date that I chose. Did they all confirm with me the travel date and the hotel on the first day when I called to make my reservation on June 23, 2006? Vick again gives me a list of the hotels to choose from and tells me that I will have to pay $200 more to reserve those hotels which most are 2 stars hotel. He forces me to answer all the personal survey questions about my job, my moneyetc he asks, he says that if I don't answer his survey questions, the chance is I don't get the room? What is this all about? Is it a thread? Will I really have a room reserved for me if I pay them another $200? Or will they tell me that there is nothing available for me on my travel date in March 31, 2007?

This is an unprofessional business practice. I do not trust the way these people do business. They can not just asking for money every time I call in. The amount is only non refundable when they are able to delivery the service. In this case, they are not able to delivery their promise to me, they don't have a hotel for me, they are trying to fool me around to get more money from me. How do I know if there is really a vacation reservation for me?
