A Guy by the name of DAVID SHORT contacted me through an application I had posted on the Internet and told me that a private lender would supply the loan I was looking for. They told me I could choose one of two options either insurance of 1,000 or 3 payments upfront. I was told to send the money to a CATHY TANNER in ontano Bay,Canada.
After I sent the first payment of 912.00 plus 79.00 sending fee from western union they called me back to say that my credit was bad enough that the private lender needed either the total insurance payment of 1800.00 or another 3 months payment which added up to an additional 912.00 plus another 79.00 sending fee which I was told to send to the same person. Now whenever I call the 1-800-963-9169 number they gave me I get a recording saying "the universal accounts have been temporarily placed on hold please contact customer service." I have emailed them and naturally I have not gotten any responses. There is no other way to get hold of them. They did fax me some so called loan documents with the name DAVID SHORT as a loan representative and a TONY WATSON as president/ceo.
This company is supposedly located in Salem nh.

Eny,
Contact your state attorney general ASAP and also the state attorney general in New Hampshire. Also, there are ALOT of these types of scam artists and they are not based in the US but Canada. Contact them also. I believe it is a Crimebuster website set up by the Royal Canadian Police. Good Luck!
