Stay away from all business dealings with Trustco Bank. When you go for a loan and you experience hardship this institution is dishonest in their business practices they will not help you retain your home there goal is to take it from you at all costs. They refuse to help you stating that they don't participate in any government assistance therefore they don't have to offer any assistance therefore they choose not to. This is disheartening especially when they want to be known as your neighborhood friendly bank, my a*s. If they want to be on the up in up why don't they mention there business practices or lack thereof when they give you the money and in the documentation. No need to answer that question I will tell you why because if they do you won't want to deal with them. Unfortunately I learned of this the hard why my goal is to educate others to hopefully not fall prey to them as I did. I also would love a class action lawsuit to develop against this bank so they can learn that you can't treat people like this. They should be ashamed of themselves and pray for their souls and salvation for what they are doing to innocent people/families how can they live with themselves.

FREE HOUSE? What are you talking about...

AUTHOR: ANGEL - ()

POSTED: Sunday, January 11, 2015

Sometimes it is best not to speak when you DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. I will for the last time entertain this madness in very simply: Banking institutions lend money and they have business practices that they are well aware of at the onset. Banks needs to make sure that they are not deceptive in their practices by completely divulging the details to their customers at the time of the loan and in the loan documents. HOW ARE WE DOING SO FAR ---- GOT IT - GOOD STAY WITH ME A LITTLE LONGER TRUSTCO BANK - has voluntarily decided to not accept government assistance therefore they have OPTED THEMSELVES OUT of any government assistance mandates, that all other banking institutions offer. NOTE: FOR YOUR INFORMATION THIS ARE NOT HAND OUTS OR FREEBIES it is the ability to add your outstanding payment to the end of the loan, loan modifications and or forbearance (ability to stop making payment for up to one year and then add to loan). TRUSTCO BANK REFUSES TO OFFER THESE OPTIONS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS and ARE DECEPTIVE BY NOT LETTING THEIR CUSTOMERS KNOW ABOUT IT UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE. PERIOD.... ADDITIONALLY, apparently we all don't have such a perfect life like you - when life happens to the rest of us we lose our jobs (like me) by no fault of our own (like me) we go from working since 10 years of age considered middle class to reaching 50 years old and become poor and on the way to homelessness after one year of not being able to be gainfully employed. HAD I BEEN AWARE OF TRUSTCO BANKS DECEPTIONS AT THE ONSET I WOULD HAVE NOT CHOSEN TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, at the time just encase something in my life changed and I needed options, in hindsight, that is exactly what happened to me. SO FOR EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD THIS IS NOT A DEBATE THIS IS MY LIFE AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK THAT MAYBE YOU MAY FIND YOUR SELF IN A LIFE EVENT THAT EFFECTS YOUR FINANCES (MEDICAL, UNEMPLOYMENT ETC.) DON'T ACCEPT A LOAN FROM TRUSTCO BANK WHO WILL NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH ANY OPTIONS THAT ALL OTHER BANKS DO.

You're ENTITLED To A Free House, Right?

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

They did their part by lending you the money. You failed in your part by not making your payments on time, as you said you would.  They aren't your personal charity. In pure deadbeat fashion you're wailing and whining about class action suits which is obvious you know nothing about. Everyday deadbeats come here to stomp their feet because they think they are entitled to not make their payments.  WELCOME to the club!  Don't waste the effort, I don't work for them.

Fraud and Deception is exactly my point

Since they are well aware of the way they choose to do business they need to advise their customers at the time of the loan as well as ensure it is clearly included in the loan paperwork. You must be so fortunate not to have ever experienced a similar misfortune in life thus far based on your comment and I hope to God your not put to the test one day and get a similar response.

Don't blame the lender for your loan default

“When you go for a loan and you experience hardship this institution is dishonest in their business practices they will not help you retain your home…”

There is nothing dishonest about a lender refusing to alter the terms of a signed agreement.

“I also would love a class action lawsuit to develop against this bank so they can learn that you can't treat people like this.”

They have the right to ‘treat’ you with foreclosure. You cannot sue the lender because they became unfriendly after you suffered a financial hardship. You will need a better argument such as fraud or deception.
