I had recieved a free trial of AOL with a computer purchase but didn't use it because I have broadband (duh) and my previous experience with trying to cancel AOL was a nightmare. I didn't want to go there again so I didn't do anything. Much to my chagrin and surprise, at the end of the 6 month trial (that I never used or activated), credit card charges started to appear on my statement. AOL says that since I didn't call them at the end of the 6 month trial and cancel my account then they assume that it was ok to charge my credit card. Funny, how I didn't even want to click on the icon that I ended up getting charged anyway. The staff in India who took my call were very committed to not giving me a refund. I'm working it out with my credit card company to get all or some of the charges reversed. Public Enemy Company #1 = AOL. Don't get screwed, steer clear away from that pos.
