U-Haul strands people Stranded in Minnesota Columbus OH

On 08/25/02, I made a reservation for a one way move from MN to OH. Sounds simple, right? WRONG!!.

I had already to to OH 1 year ago, nut still had a lot of stuff in storage. My husband and I each arranged to take 5 days off of work to get our stuff.

When I called to make the reservation, I was told Icould get a truck on th 31st if not on the 1st. I said that was fine but I had to leave on the 1st to get to my job. They told me they would call me the day before to let me know where I could get the truck.

Needless to say, I recieved no phone call. So, I called them. They told me they were running behind so it would be another 2-3 DAYS before I could get a truck. They also informed me that there were no trucks in the entire state of MN.

I know that is a bald faced lie because I called a store direct and got a reservation for the next day. When I called the store the next day, They assured me they had a truck for me. After driving for 2hrs, we got there only to find out they had rented the truck out to the people in line ahead of us.

That's twice they did that. So we had to find a way back home(costing almost $1,000) and we have to come back. U-haul offered to do nothing for us. The employees were rude and uncaring. I work in customer service and I treated ANY customer like that,I would be fired in a heartbeat.

Needless to say, we're not using U-haul again.
And here's a tip for you. If you don't have a lot of stuff, rent a pick-up truck from a car dealer. That's what we're doing and it's cheeper.
