*Consumer Suggestion: It is on your report as it should be.....
In 1998 I bought a Dodge Caravan from the douglasville location. had several minor problems with the vehicle then about two months after purchase the motor blew. the oil pump shot through the oil pan. this was the day after the oil _was_ changed.the dealership told me that they would go "halves" on the repair bill,. i let them get the vehicle back and they still are showing over $8000 owed on my credit report.

It is on your report as it should be.....

I would expect it to show up on your credit report. When you enter into an agreement, to purchase a vehicle, when the vehicle is repoed or 'let go,' that doesn't release you from your responsibilty to pay the note that you agreed to pay. I think that it was more than gracious for them to offer to pay half of the cost to fix it. You chose to let it go. However, I am sure that the contract states that you were still responsible. Look into your contract and see waht it says about voluntarily turning the car back in. I am guessing that there is no clause to that case. What you can do is to see if they will take less and make them the offer. I am guessing that they will.
