United Consumer Financial Services Ran credit report even though contract cancelled in 1 business day Westlake Ohio

My wife and I saw an in home demonstration for a new Kirby vacuum cleaner. We were impressed and thought we might like to own it. After going through everything and sleeping on it for the night, we decided that we just didn't want to keep it, nor did we want a payment. We cancelled the contract and told all concerned parties that we were cancelling the contract. We sent the original paperwork to the finance company via certified mail, return receipt requested. We received the return receipt one week later showing that they had gotten it. We had signed the paperwork cancelling it, made a copy for our records. I thought all was done. Today, 6 May 2014 we get a letter in the mail saying that they have denied us credit, even though we cancelled the contract. They pulled our credit and ran a credit check on us, even after acknowledging receipt that we had cancelled the contract. 

Beware of this company and it's fraudulent and deceptive practices. By cancelling the contract, we rescinded authorization to pull our credit yet United Consumer Financial Services still went ahead and ran our credit.

In my opinion, this is a fraudulent and ddeceptive company to be avoided at ALL COSTS!!
