On 12/12/2006 a young man, Westly Payne came knocking. He gave a story of how he is the son of (some lady neighbor who lived around the corner). He was raising money for his baseball team to go to Japan for Nationals. He was very convincing in his story. Gave information about his team at Univ. Calfi. Riverside.
I was reluctant as Christmas was right around the corner and I didn't want to waste money on needless things but he actually made me feel so sorry for him that I agreed to buying one subscription. I paid him my $38- and he assured me I would love the magazine. He even gave a delivery date of no later than 4/20/07.
Just 2 days after this young mans visit a girl around the same age came knocking with the same story but raising money for her soccer team. I actually apologized to her and said she was too late I already ordered from another student at UCR.
Since April I have made about 20 long distance calls to Tuscan Reads Services AKA United Family Circulation. The recording sounds like a real switchboard system however no one ever answers and all calls are routed to mail boxes are that full so that no messages can be left.
It wasn't until today that I finally got fed up enough to look up the magazine to even see if it was a real magazine. It is. I then looked up United Family Circulation to see if their business is real or also a scam. To my surprise I have been dupped.
Needless to say I would like my money back however based on what I have read I won't hold my breathe. I suppose I will take my chances in small claims court.
If anyone has been successful in their recovery efforts, please let me know. I would love to save myself some time in trying to put a stop to these scam artist and collect my money back.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Correct contact information for United Family Circulation
AUTHOR: Sgg - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, August 17, 2007
After numerous searches on the internet I have found the correct phone # for this company. The correct info. is as follows:
United Family Circulation
303 W Shadburn Ave Ste 100
Buford, GA 30518-2692
Telephone: (770) 831-7733
Fax: (770) 831-7040
If you call (770) 831-7733 you will get an automated system that give you the option to talk to several people. The greeting was very different from the phone # listed on the receipt. I pressed #1 and spoke to Caroline. She did confirm my order and I did receive the book I ordered weeks later! (granted I did pay WAY more that I should have, and it was sold to me under deceptive pretense!)
Finding this phone # was very difficult. It was NOT the same number that was printed on the receipt. The number on the receipt is 770-831-7722 (this phone # will take you around in circles!!!)
If you call the (770) 831-7733 and press #1 for Caroline, you will get a live person. I have called her 3 times and was able to speak to someone. In fact, I called today to straighten out a magazine subscription that I did not sign up for.
Good Luck!!! I hope you get your books/magazines!!
