I was scammed out of $700 +11.79 ( 3 reloadable Vanilla 1 cards) I had received a phone call on March 17th saying I was approved for a loan and I had to show $300 that had the fundsto pay the loan. On March 21st I went to CVS to purchase the reloadable card with $300, I was told to hold onto the card for 35 minutes and then after the 35 minutes I can spend it because it will take the 35 minutes to process the loan. After 35 minutes I didn't receive anything, so I called back I was told they needed $200 for insurance, so I purchased another reloadable card with the $200.
I was told during this call the funds was already in the bank but it was shown as invisible until $200 was paid. I went to the bank, I asked the teller if there was anything showing a deposit for $4000 in my account. She said no. I called the UPL again I was told they received a email saying I owed the federal government $351, I tld them I don't owe the government nothing. I asked for UPL to forward me the email or give me a phone number to contact them about this information. The person told me to hold on and came back and gave me the phone number 845-445-4891 told me to call them to find out what was going on. I called the number I was told in there system it showed I owed the government money, I again stated I don't owe anybody anything and hung up.
I received a phone call from UPL 5 minutes after I hung up with the other number, telling me I could get the loan on a emergency basis all I had to do was get a reloadable card put $200 on it and the cash would be deposited into the account within 7 minutes. I was told no more money would be asked that the money would be deposited into the account today. I purchased another reloadable card for $200, I called them with the pin number and was told within 20 minutes. I waited a hour and nothing I called them back again this time they needed $150 to deposit into the account. I was told no more money after the last $200 I said no. I hung up the phone. I received a call back 5 minutes later saying if I can do $105 I said no. I received another phone call saying if they hold onto the application until Monday March 22nd it would be $300. He promised that no more money was going to be asked. Ive already heard enough promises today.
I called back and told them to forget the application, I wanted all my money back. I was told in 15 days, I told them It didn't take 15 days to take my money I want all my money back ASAP. I asked was they running a scam. He hung up on me.
Now my reason for going through all this is because I had knee replacement surgery in November causing me to be out of work. My disability I receive is once a month and I needed to get a new refridgerator because it is breaking down and a new stove and that is barely working. I am thinking apply for a loan take care of my house and pay off some bills until my next disability payment comes but instead I am out of $700 and no refridgerator, no stove, phone bill due, light bill due, water bill due and no way for my children to get to school.
