My name is Kathee and I live in Twinsburg, Ohio.  Two gentlemen came to my door today and smooth-talked their way into selling me a magazine subscription for $49.00 for Rachel Ray Magazine.  After the transaction was finished, I had closed my door and I heard someone outside yelling.

I went outside and the maintenance man to my apartment complex was telling them to leave the premises because no soliciting was allowed.  After they left, he told me that if I had written a check to them that I should cancel it because they had ripped people off in our development before.

I went back inside and contacted their phone number on my receipt.  I told the girl who answered the phone what my maintenance man said and let her know I was a little uneasy about the transaction.  Instead of doing what a real company would do and assuring me that everything was alright and providing proof, she started yelling at me that if I cancelled my check they would come after me with the Attorney General's office, and they WOULD get their money and they WOULD collect an extra $21 for their efforts.  I thought, what the hell?

So I promptly went to the bank and filed a stop pay on my check. That cost $29.00.  So I lost $29.00 because of my stupidity - or moreso, because there are low life scums in the world.  I did file a complaint with Florida Attorney General's office and Ohio Attorney General's office.  We'll see what happens there.  I feel they owe me $29.00.

I then promptly called her office back, which is now closed, and let them know I filed, cancelled my check, and had called the cops on their guys of which one was picked up for having a warrant out for his arrest due to soliciting.  However, it wasn't the guy with MY check.

I have filled out their form and am mailing it stating that I want the transaction cancelled. 

And I told the girl to go to hell.

I wish there was a way to stop people from being such jerks!
