On 3-25-03 after responding to an ad for heat/ac tune up $19.00, the technician determined I needed a contactor, transformer and relay. They also added freon for a total of $304.00. He had also removed the connector to fuse box and had taken this with him to return on 3/29/03 to install the relay.

He never showed up. I called company another technician reached me on 3/31/03 and had the relay, but no connector, so the unit was inoperable, later he returned with connector and it appeared the work was complete.

On 4/6/03 I attempted to turn on the Air conditioning, no air coming thru the ducts and compressor had icing appearing on it. I called a different company 4/6/03 it was determined the coil was impacted which was cleaned at that time. After connection was made, still no air, it was determined then that fan blower motor needs to be replaced for $400.00 additional costs.

The prior technicians check list also showed the coil was impacted but no attempt was made to service it, simply add all the other electrical contacts and charge me those fees of $304.00.

Well, the end result is that I demand the return of the $304.00 from united Restoration. To help defray the costs of A new fan motor. And that this handled in an expeditious manner. Thank you.

AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 02, 2004

United, as you know have a whole bunch of complaints against them that are not compleatly right, but some are. United has one major problem, they hier people off of the street with out any knowledge of the HVAC ind. THey rely on a handfull of men who actually know their stuff. yes it is possisable to have a tec who does not know anything but considering that if there are 9 offices in florida and they are in 18 states then there not doing all that bad if each office responds to 50-70 calls each day.

make sure you continue to go after the company, until they close all their doors.

AUTHOR: Randy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 22, 2003

After a month investigation by Florida business and Professional Regulation 6/03/11/03,the state general counsel dismissed the complaint without a finding of probable cause,a letter of guidance sent to contractor.

All I can tell you people who make complaints, is make sure you continue to go after the company, until they close all their doors.

The judge in small claims court would rather hear from a consumer than a lawyer

claim going nowhere....

This complaint is going nowhere! Randy I hope you have got over this self inflected injustice to your ego.

The technician that charged you $304 will say that the parts he replaced were in poor working order and needed to be replaced.

He did not over charge you for the work done. The technician sent by the company probably was inexperienced but may have thought what he did would fix the problem.

The blower motor was probably running when he inspected it.

I have seen a lot of bad things written about the company you used in this matter, however your claims appear unfounded.

The Florida Dept. of Professional regulation does not have the authority to fine or revoke licenses because a technician changes a part he thinks is bad, and it does not completely fix youre A/C unit.

If I were you, I would be more worried about the lawyer you finally found to listen to you regarding this issue. He is going to cost you more than all the repairs combined.

Just a suggestion, go to the book store and get a book on filing in small claims court. It will save you lots. The judge in small claims court would rather hear from a consumer than a lawyer. You have the right to represent yourself, and it is understood that you dont know legal jargon.

These people need to be held more accountable for their actions against consumers

AUTHOR: Randy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 13, 2003

The state of Florida dept business and Professional regulation investigation remains pending. and my attorney is pursuing full restitution, and or small claims action in a few weeks.

Sidney schwartz, and Mark Berch the owners or partners of this business are solely responsible for all debts public or private. Regardless if the company has insurance, or are bonded.

These people need to be held more accountable for their actions against consumers in any state they have received a license to practice in a professional manner, not to just line their pockets at expense of others. They are politically incorrect to keep doing business as usual.

Florida dept.business professional regulation

AUTHOR: Randy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 06, 2003

June 3.03. the complaint has been reviewed by consumer services, and an analsis has resulted in forwarding of the matter to the office of investigative services.

I am hopeful that the dept.will revoke, suspend the license of united Restoration, levy fines if any,and bring displinary action to this matter.

it was also noted in the dept.letter that civil remedies may be available, any assistance in this action would be helpful,I look forward to others who have come in contact with United restoration to iniatiate a class action lawsuit,as they have crossed intrastate lines, sent advertisements in mail, and defraud consumers with their schemes and practices.
