I went with my daughter to trade in a White Hyundai Elantra and in doing so, the vehicle was supposed to been in her name, with me as a co-signer. However, when she went to have the car registered and insurance put in her name, they advised us she shouldn't have insurance and registration in her name that it should be in my name. After further investigation,we went to trade the vehicle to get another vehicle in solely her name, and in doing so, as she was paying for a vehicle and she wasn't getting the credit reported to the bureaus, and then we found out that the Kia Dealership, falsified loan documents using my credit score, her employer and income as my employer and income. I am on social security and retired and my social security is only $340.00 a month and the payment on the vehicle in question is $390.00 a month, clearly you can see you don't have to be a rocket scientist to do the math here. We also found out that the vehicle was $7000.00 in the red, the dealership we were trying to do business with pointed out several things on the contract, etc. I attempted to contact the dealership and they don't want to hear it , and basically said the gentlemen that financed the vehicle, is no longer employed with University Kia...with that being said..I wonder how many loans have been falsified.

I HAVE CONTACTED THE BANK, WHICH IS BB&T BANK, I ADVISED THEM, THAT I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, RIPOFFREPORT, AND THE ALABAMA ATTORNEY GENERAL. BB&T IS A JOKE, THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING, OR GET INVOLVED, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE IFNORMATION THEY HAVE IS NOT ACCURATE. (I.E. PLACE OF EMPLOYER, IS MY DAUGHTERS EMPLOYER AND THEY HAVE IT LISTED AS MINE.)  I ASKED IF THERE WAS SOMETHING THEY COULD DO TO DEFER PAYMENTS TO WHERE I JUST PAY THE INTEREST UNTIL THIS MATTER IS RESOLVED, AND THEY CLAIM THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ME.   THE 2 MEN THAT I DEALT WITH AT UNIVERSITY KIA, ONE WAS A FINANCE MANAGER AND THE OTHER WAS A SALESMAN ARE NO LONGER WORKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP.  I AM VERY FRUSTRATED TO SAY THE LEAST.

AUTHOR: Auto dealer fraud Investigator - ()

POSTED: Saturday, January 18, 2014

I am a auto dealer fraud investigator. I help consumers find out the truth. I also have been known to help attorneys that are representing consumers I know where the dirt is and the shovel that I use is big enough to find it.

I did not see where you mentioned the name of the lender that funded the deal. Why didn't you tell us the name of the bank that funded the deal ? Also if I were you I would contact the lender and let them know what kind of deals that they might be getting from the dealership you bought your car from.

If a big suspects that a business is sending them fraudulent documents over the wire they might RETHINK doing business with that company. If a finance manager takes it upon himself to submit loan documents to the lender over the wire over the Internet it is called wire fraud !

I know that particular situation validity Outwest that soon found out that she was in a fraudulent auto loan after talking to me. I personally contacted the lenders fraud department for this customer And I informed the fraud investigator at the bank what was going on and what the dealership was doing. After I was done having a three-way conversation on the phone with the fraud investigator and the car buyer guess what happened ! The fraud investigator at Huntington national Bank Contacted the dealership seven months after the purchase of a car was made and insisted that the dealership give all of the money back to the bank and take the car from the customer.

Many smart lenders do not want fraudulent loans on their books. If they suspect that a dealerships finance manager is sending fraudulent loan documents to them for loan approval they can and many times will stop doing business with that Particular auto dealership.

What you need to do is contact the lender and show them everything and how the deal. Took place.

Now take note many fraud investigators at lending institutions do not have their job because the of their abilities. Because many of them do not have the ability to detect fraud nor are they willing to do anything about it. Many fraud investigators that work at lending institutions especially auto lenders got the job from kissing the correct a*s to acquire the job.

Many of them to this day still look the other way Because the lender is receiving interest on the loan and they know that the dealerships will bring them more of those type of loans to make even more money. If you go to your own lender such as a credit union fraudulent loans will not take place in you will not become a victim.

If you are the type of lady that's into relationships and you want to analyze them please go to a credit union and build yourself a relationship. After that takes place you will no longer fall into fraudulent auto loans.

Class is dismissed!

Time for another Fat Tire, CHEERS.

@Karl.. Thanks for the information.  I will look into filing additional reports with The Alabama Attorney General.

@Rocket Science.  Thanks for your input, however, I am not from Alabama, and with that being said...filing fraudlent loan documents to sell a vehicle and make a sale is illegal.  YOU were not there, they rushed us through, I was sitting outside in the car with my grandson, the salesman came out and the finance manager and spoke to me..never mentioned terms of contract and sale. When, I went in and signed said documents, they said it was EVERYTHING we discussed outside. NOT TO MENTION THEY WERE RUSHING US OUT OF THERE IT WAS CLOSING TIME.  Thanks for your unwanted sarcasm.

Alabama Rocket Science

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

POSTED: Monday, January 13, 2014

With all due respect to anyone who actually got an education in Alabama..I hope that the poster of this RipOff doesn't represent you as a whole.

After all before you start claiming things such as fraud, perhaps you should actually look at your own actions.

the vehicle was supposed to been in her name, with me as a co-signer

- Do you know what the basic responsibilty of a Co-Signer is?  It is to GUARANTEE that if(or when) the original borrower does not make the payments, you as the Co-Signer will make them.  So with that said, exactly how were you going to make the payments in that situation if they were $50 a month more than you get in Social Security every month?

Yea you are right..it isn't Rocket Science to see what is going on here.  They did EXACTLY what you REALLY wanted them to do.  That is to use your daughters income and your credit history to get her approved at a better rate.  Unfortunatly, you basically had a "hissy fit" when you found out that the only way to do that was to put you as the owner.

You of course then claim that you never looked at what they wrote down.  So was this your Alabama education at work again, where they must have told you to never read what you are signing?

Oh and here is something else you probably don't know.   Even as a Co-Signer you are on the title of the car.  This means that along with your daughter you MUST have insurance in your name.  Even if you don't drive it.  The reason is that anything that happens in the car, such as if your daughter got in an accident.  With your name on the car(even as a co-signer) YOU could be sued for any damages, even if your daughter was 100% at fault and you had nothing to do with it.

Jim,

I don't believe that car dealerships are providing their customers with copies of the altered documents after the customer leaves the dealership with the vehicle. The whole idea is to deceive the bank in order to get the deal approved, and the customer will never know, unless they find out after the fact.

My guess is that at least 5% of all contracts that are sent into the banks in this country for financing a vehicle are altered in some way. So, since there were about 14 million new cars sold in the USA and about 40 million used cars sold in 2012, we can logically conclude that there could be at least one million altered contracts that are sitting at the banks right now.

WELCOME TO THE CAR BUSINESS IN AMERICA- ONE MASSIVE SCAM THAT IS BEING EXPOSED ALL OVER THE INTERNET EVERY DAY

It also doesn't take rocket science to know its COMMON SENSE to read the contract BEFORE you sign it rather than complain after the fact what YOU agreed to.

Ms. Thomas,

I believe that there are many thousands of loans falsified each year by employees who work at car dealerships all over the USA. You can 'Google' this- CAR SALES: TRICKS OF THE TRADE- DATELINE NBC CONSUMER ALERT, and watch that video on the web in order to see how a loan application was falsified by a finace manager at a car dealership.

Feel free to contact your Attorney General and provide him with a copy of your Ripoff Report and copies of anything else that you have from the transaction. You can 'Google' this- ALABAMA ATTORNEY GENERAL, and the information is available on the web.

You can also contact all of your Local TV News Stations in your city and send each one of them a copy of your Ripoff Report. Put it to the attention of 'Investigative Reporter'. There is a chance that someone may contact you and do a story on TV in order to alert others in your area of what happened to you and your daughter, and what might happen to customers who purchase a vehicle at this dealership in the future.

Good luck to you and your daughter, and keep us updated.
