If you are looking to teach yourself, fail in your goals and deplete your financial aid this is the University for you.
I attended the University of the Rockies to earn a Doctoral degree and when I went for my first residential, we were told by the Instructor that the University does not have APA accreditation. Moreover, the classes you take here are not transferable and the administrative staff must be the rudest, unprofessional people I have ever met. They will manipulate, lie, use doublespeak and ruin your efforts for furthering your education, then walk-away. They made mistakes and errors that I have never seen in all of my 10 years of post-graduate education.
What was suppose to be a joyful journey, culminating in a PhD, turned into a nightmare leaving me with 18 credit hours I cannot use and no financial aid because they depleted it expeditiously. The staff is untrained and without any empathy for their on-line students. Basically, you are on your own except for your fellow classmates. What a Rip-Off. I will be picking up the pieces for a very long time.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Let me set the record straight

I am a former employee of the University of the Rockies and let me assure you, it is a joke of a "University" as well as a horrendous place to work. As an Enrollment Advisor you are forced into enrolling as many students as possible. If you do not enroll a certain amount, you are fired. Needless to say, as long as the potential student has a pulse and can get financial aid, he/she will be admitted. Advisors will tell potential students anything they think they want to hear in order to enroll them. Period. As long as the student passes their first class, the Enrollment Advisor gets credit for enrolling the student. Hence, Enrollment Advisors could not care less if the student will actually graduate from the program, or be happy with it in the long run. Everyone who works there knows the program is a complete joke and provides a completely worthless degree. In fact, a large amount of the so-called management team at the University of the Rockies do not even have undergraduate degrees themselves; clearly they really value education......
Also, in response to the former post, you do not need a 3.0 to be admitted into the program. As long as you had a 2.0 in your previous program, you can be admitted and just simply be on academic probation, which is a joke and really puts you at no disadvantage. What other "University" would admit someone into a Masters or Phd program with a 2.0. It's a disgrace because it cheapens the whole concept of education.
