Unum Provident TOOK MY PREMIUMS FOR 30 YEARS AND FAILED TO SUPPORT MY DISABILITY Worchester Massachusetts

I took out a private disability insurance policy with Unum Provident over 30 years ago to offer me some coverage in case  a medical problem left me unable to work. Such a problem did recently arise and I filed a claim with the company for disability benefits. They paid for a short period of time and just recently sent me a letter that my claim was terminated and stopped all disability payments even though coverage was to extend to age 65. I have a recent medical report indicating that I cannot work and stating in addition that my former line of work is no longer possible for me. Using this I filed 2 appeals with Unum both of which were denied. I filed a complaint with the state which was of no help whatsoever and Unum knew it. beforehand. Never have they requested an examination by their doctor just saying they disagree with my doctor and continue to withhold payments. I recommend using extreme caution before even considering doing business with Unum Provident.
