This is a complaint against UPakWeShip international shipping company, FMC # 13036N (5850 Waterloo Rd., Suite 140, Columbia, MD, USA; tel. 866; fax ; e-mail move@upakweship.com; website URL www.upakweship.com; company apparently does not have and/or will not provide DOT#). Near the end of 2007 I contracted with UPakWeShip to move household goods from Cookville, TN, to Dunedin, NZ. Contracted services represented: shipper (me) packs container, container transported to shipper destination, shipper (me) unpacks. Services were not rendered as represented in any particular at the destination. Instead, a subcontractor unpacked the container and lost irreplaceable family photos that were priceless for us. When the subcontractor showed up at our door, almost unannounced, my wife asked, are you sure this is all 94 of our boxes? They affirmed, and further stated that each box was ticked off at unpacking. Later it was revealed that none of this was true. In trying to follow up with UPakWeShip, Alison Kane refused to reply to my specific concerns that I addressed to them. At each e-mail, she requested more information, each installment of which she then ignored. To date, there has been no evidence that UPakWeShip has investigated the matter with the subcontractor who lost the goods. There has been no evidence that UPakWeShip has remediation their misrepresentation of contracted services in order to protect other customers. There has been no evidence that UPakWeShip attempted to inform the international subcontractor of the specifics of contracted service ahead of the delivery, or since. There has been no evidence that UPakWeShip attempted to confirm with the international subcontractors that contracted services could be rendered.

UPakWeShip, missing box

AUTHOR: Upakweship - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 23, 2008

UPakWeShip was very sorry to hear that Mr. Kimsey's box was misplaced during an inspection by the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and every effort was made to locate the box. Mr. Kimsey was quite upset that his ocean container was unloaded for an inspection but this is unfortunately the prerogative of the New Zealand authorities. It is rare that a box would go missing during an inspection but unfortunately it can happen.
