Urban Active They are CROOKS when it comes to cancelling your contract! maumee, Ohio

I joined the gym as a family membership. We had several issues with them not keeping good records, for example I wanted to upgrade my tanning membership for just myself. They allowed me to tan at the upgraded bed for 2 months and then all of a sudden i go in and they tell me your not signed up to tan at upgrad level. I explained that I have been tanning at this level for two months ever since I joined. Well they said we never charged you for this upgrade and I said fine I still want this, until they tell me that they no longer offer the discounted upgrade price of when i signed up and the guy that signed me up Zach is no longer employed here so we cant honor this, so I said forget it then. then when i decide to cancel my membership on August 17, 2010 they tell me I just missed canceling by a day and i have to pay another month of fees but i get to use the gym until October 15, 2010. so i paid the 106.75 on august 15 and September 15 I paid another 106.75 but then my daughter goes in the gym and they said you canceled and you cant use the gym anymore. I explained to them we were told by Lexy that we could use the gym until October 15, and they said no when you cancel we tell you that you have a month because sometimes it takes 30 days for paperwork to go through but yours went through faster so your membership is void now. i asked for 1/2 my refund back then and they said that is not an option. I have known several people that are not happy with their services. the gym is beautiful but the customer service and the contract is not professional and I cant believe how many people they rip off and probably get away with it because people don't want to take the time. I have also tried to contact the corporate office but it is automated and directs you back to the location and that is where nothing gets done in the first place. i will never refer anyone to this gym.
