US Career Institute always have false advertisements in the newspapers all the time saying you can take your time with the course which is not true you only have one year to complete the course. On the advertisement it says that Medical Coding is in demand which I did not enrolled in instead I enrolled in medical transcriptionist program in which they do not use medical transcriptionists anymore.
The school told me a lie saying companies are always in need of medical transcriptionist but they don't use them anymore. While dictating doctor notes through the school the instructor who know if I had an instructor would always pretty much fail me because I didn't go by the rules of reports such semicolons etc. which I dictated the reports correctly. I called the medical transcriptionist program since I needed help they did not care at all so I still recieved failing grades and I know I didn't speak to an actually instructor.
I finally earned my medical transcriptionist certification but after i completed the program most companies do not use medical transcriptionist since everything is electronic now. When reading the book about medical transcriptionist they lied about medical transcriptionist they are always in demand that's lie. Most healthcare facilites do not use medical transcriptionists anymore. They lied about that. The certificate was not signed by my instructor but instead it was signed by the president of the school.
Even the same thing when I was enrolled in medical assistant program. They told me lies in the course outline was that clinicals were part of the course but I never did clinical because my instructor said it was my responsibility to set up clinical but in the advertisment the instructor should have set up the clinicals in my local area. I learn to how medical procedures online such as needle sticks, inserting foley, EKG showed everything but you don't do it on a real person.
How are you going to learn to draw blood etc. It weird that the instructor in which she had a name her name is Jessica Guziman who was my instructor when I had questions she would e-mail me. She never gave out a phone number to reach her if we had questions etc. The school sent us medical gloves since I never needed the gloves because we didn't clinicals on a real person.
The whole thing was biozard and earned my certificate but the school didn't required me to take the national medical exam since most jobs only required a certificate but that is not true you must certain amout of clinical hours and you must take NHA exam to be considered for a job. The bad news however that most companies do not accept students from US Career Institute so unfortunately I am going through NHA program and companies accept student from there.
So on my resume I am not going to say that I went to US Career Institute. I am very thankful that I can my clincal at the hospital where I work. US Career Institute is not accredited school when I did some research so if I decided to go another school then my courses will not count those credits.
So I would have to redo the courses which is not fair. They say they are acredited but they are not. Its was a big waster of money I had to put to down I was thinking maybe if I enrolled in the medical assistant program I am opt to get a job but the estimated salary on medical assistant is 38,00 which is not true. After the course most companies do not accept students from US Career Institute.

Really?

Yes, clearly your education has worked for you when you cannot even format a proper paragraph nor SPELL correctly! Obviously you failed in the current profession or you would not be in pursuit of a CERTIFICATE in your current field. Places like USCI and other for profit schools offer programs that barely meet entry level requirements. They provide no promises that you will gain employment in your chosen course of study. That being said a traditional 4 year college can make no promise either. However, they can sure as hell make sure you are ready to move into a career after graduation. While yes a CERTIFICATE can certainly boost your resume I would look into other institutions before I give these folks a dime.

Im confused as to how USCI is a scam. I have a Bachelors degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting and decided to see what the Accounting Services Specialist course was about. not only does it look good on a resume to have a career cirtificate in any field, but the information provided in the packets was stright to the point and easy to understand. it IS entry level information. I learned the basics of everything it took 4 yrs of college to learn. its so cheap compared to the tens of thousands of dollars Im paying back to a college, and you get the same information. All you have to do is read the packet materials. there is no fine print, I was explained everything everyone is complaining about before I signed my enrollment agreement. Its not the company's fault that YOU couldnt honor your end of the agreement. They also dont garentee you a job. take in the information and use it how you see fit. once again, its not USCIs fault you didnt get out of it what you were expecting. maybe next time, do a little research before you commit. considering I am getting the basics of Accounting Servies for $1200 vs. a degree that beats around the bush, giving so many hypothetical examples of companies, trying to cover EVERYTHING for $40,000. I have to say USCI gives you the info you need to get your foot in the door for a career you want. thats it.
also, whoever said companies dont use medical transcriptionist is bs. my neighbor does it from home and makes 60,000/yr.
In closing, dont blame USCI because of your inability to utilize the info, or commit to the program. its worked for MANY MANY other people, and is working for me.

It is not false advertising they just slant the truth is all. This school along with Kaplan, ITT Tech plus a few others have nothing but bullshit programs that only seek to line their pockets. Their accreditation is bullshit along with most of their programs. Like all these for profit schools say "we provide skills for an ENTRY LEVEL career".

US Career Institute NOT False Advertising

For over thirty years, U.S. Career Institute has helped many successful students acquire new career skills. The school has maintained an A+ rating with the BBB and is accredited through the national accrediting commission, DETC. Our courses are designed to give students practical skills to obtain entry-level positions. A student who graduates from one of our certificate programs will receive a certificate of completion. It is personal choice depending on career goals if a student chooses to sit for a national exam after graduation. We do have graduates who have pursued a national certification from NHA and other certifying organizations after graduation.
Our self-paced programs are designed specifically for distance education learning methods. Our instructors are available by messaging, email, phone or mail during regular business hours. Our graduate services department offers lifetime assistance. I would encourage you to contact our Student Services department to answer any questions on your account.
Thanks.

I can not figure out why someone would get loans and pay some greedy capitalist thousands of dollars to do something the state and federal government provides at almost no cost (if you are speaking of medical assistant programs there are folks that can get you licensed for about $300 dollars).
Not sure what degree you are referring to but most of these schools are nothing but scams. I have a friend who has multiple DUI's. He was marketed to of all places a truck driving school. He lived in the ghetto, did not have a car, and believe it or not this school wanted his loan money (and others like him) so bad they sent around vans to pick them up and bring them in. Anything to get them to sign their names on the dotted line. He was upfront about his DUI's and they told him there were companies that would still work with him.
Thousands of dollars later and he had finished the program. Guess what. Everywhere he went closed the door in his face. Finally one guy told him that no company would hire him to be a truck driver with multiple DUI's because their insurance carriers would not cover a person such as him.
There are MANY corrupt business owners and these people getting into For Profit Schools and FOR PROFIT Health Clinics and FOR PROFIT this and that are just BILKING THE SYSTEM. Nothing more. They will lie and tell all sorts of things to get your money.
I can't believe you are just now figuring this out.
