I used uship to transport a commercial refrigerator from New York to Iowa. The driver picked the load up 5 hrs late and did not have a truck large enough to transport. He transported it on its side 1100 miles. I took pictures and did not accept shipment per advise from my local equipment company. I contacted uship to file claim and they will not take claim. They also state the drivers are not paid or employed by uship. So when I asked for the drivers CDL # and insurance information I was told UShip does not screen drivers and they do not know if they are insured or not. After trying to contact the driver and the seller contacting the driver we were told the merchandise is in a location he was not going to reveal. I had to involve the police today and file a theft claim against USHIPS Driver. Now have been trying to get in contact with USHIP and they no longer will answer the phone. Finally was able to file claim but had to make up address where refrigerator was because USHIP employees will not take information or call back like TYLER F. at USHIP Stated he would. There is now a police case # and I have to pursue legal action against USHIP and the driver.

Just because you claim to be something doesnt make it true!!!!

I have issue with your assertions Jami from uship.I was a long term legal and compliant transporter for your site and the moment you receive any kind of compensation for the services you provide,YOU ARE A BROKER !!! You can spin it any way you like but the fact remains you are facilitating a transaction between 2 parties, end of story.

I have also been on both sides of the fence . I was ripped off by a company for one of my trucks where they used it for a week hauling trailers and freight around for your site then trashed it and ditched it in Fargo,ND.

I then had to fly to Winnipeg and drive down to Fargo to retrieve my truck.Your company attempted to muzzle me and distance yourselves from any involvement or responsibilty .You would not even release any information to the various police agencies involved until the FBI and the ICC became involved.

Then the same pre-canned answers flew out of your mouths according to the script you are taught.

Just because you are told to say something in your training does not mean it is true or fact.

I have now been permanently suspended from your site because i tell it like it is. Im a straight  up and to the point person and call  the shots as they fall good or bad!

Your company continually censors all communications to suit their purpose which is manipulate the truth and hide mistakes or cover them up.

I have multiple photos of conversations and correspondence with your company that form part of my legal positon in the suit i am filing against your company.

The fact that you try to dictate what we can and can not say to OUR potential customers as you claim you have no control over the situation or transaction is 100% false and a flat out LIE!!!

If we do not word our responses to YOUR LIKING we are yellow flagged and then red flagged and removed.If you are neutral then you should not have ANY SAY in the discussion but you control the whole process.

That mere fact also proves you are a BROKER!!The fact you get paid  for this service proves you are a BROKER.

There are literally hundreds of instances of holes where you attempt to circumvent the law.Just because not enough people have challenged your assertions  and operating procedures and policies doesnt make them any more legal.It just means you are operating around the law and on the fringes abusing small loopholes and getting rich in the process but remember the BERLIN WALL got taken down by small voices which started the process and this is the beginning.

 

Oh ya just to cerify and clear my position here .I was suspended permanently because i was reporting and turning in to your company the illegal carriers you were and still are protecting with cover ups as i hired a private investigator to research the background of only 26 of my competitors in my geographical area and guess what, only 1 was even remotely certified and had proper insurances and running authorities!!!

What did that get me ? It got me accused of making another second profile using my own information that would lead directly to me when i was already a member in good standing with never a negative comment .All and every one of my 65 loads were positive feedback.

Then when i queried your company as to why you would not help meto clear my name and clearly was set up all i got was no replies to numerous emails, phone calls of "i am not allowed to comment on your profile",and best of all told a particular employee whom had spoken with me numerous times in the past and was a department manager as attested in the numerous emails back and forth did not work for them and had no one by that name.

Then when i quoted the reference number to the emails and told the emplyee they were lieing the response was "i have nothing to say and can not comment further ,i am going to hang up now" and click .

Caught !!! Now no replies ,any responses!!!    CAN YOU SAY COVER UP ,AS ALL CORRESPONDENCES HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM YOUR SITE AND IN YOUR FORUM BUT NOT BEFORE I TOOK PICS OF EVERYTHING TO PREVENT DESTRUCTION OF EVIDENCE!!

That is how your company operates!!!!!

I think it might be you Allen AKA Cleat that has limited understanding on what uship is or is not doing. Why do you always try and downplay people on the site? I personally think you are a troubled little boy.  

   This was taken from uships heavily censored blog site "get satifaction" it must be a full time job trying to do damage control here on the internet that uship can't censor.

Beware of Uship

I recommend that you stay away from Uship. It appears the vast majority of transporters bidding on shipment on that website are not licensed and do not have cargo insurance. Always ask any transporter for their DOT and MC (motor carrier) numbers, most Uship transporters don't have these numbers and are operating illegally if they transport goods for hire across state lines. Google Uship Pissed Consumer and read page after page of unhappy former Uship customers complaints. I called Uship about a company that is not DOT compliant that I know for a fact had items stolen out of their truck, changed their phone numbers, did not compensate their customers for their loss (worth tens of thousands of dollars) and are still bidding on shipments on Uship. The Uship rep said it's not their job to make sure transporters are DOT compliant and did nothing to remove this illegal transporter from their site or protect other Uship customers from this illegal transporter. This is not an isolated incident, this is Uship's standard operating procedure. Uship makes lots of money off these unlicensed transporters and are not about to forbid them from bidding on shipments on their site. Uship knows that most transporters on their site are not DOT compliant but does nothing about it. Additionally, Uship is acting as a broker by taking a fee on every booked shipment even though they claim to be a Neutral Venue.  Uship is not DOT licensed and not bonded. Once again, I highly recommend you seek out a legitimate, licensed and insured transporter to handle your shipping needs and always verify a transporters DOT and MC numbers.

Clarification of uShip and its services

We would like to clarify a few items as we do not feel the customer's interpretations of the events or our services are fair or accurate. First, the customer is correct that uShip does not employ drivers, and that is because we are a website, not a transportation company. uShip acts as an online neutral venue where customers and transporters can meet and enter into agreements. Because we are a neutral venue, and not an authoritative figure, broker or freight forwarder, we cannot and do not screen providers. We cannot verify insurance or credentials, so we do not require them for access to our site. We do have a third party verification service and we offer cargo insurance. 

With regard to insurance and filing a claim, the customer mentions that uShip would "not take claim." We do not file claims on behalf of customers. The option to file a claim was present from the second the customer booked his shipment and it was never taken away from that point until the time when he filed. What the customer was told was this: in order to file a damages claim, one first should make sure something is actually damaged. Because the customer refused delivery, he was unable to do so.

The customer calls the driver "USHIPS Driver" which is also inaccurate. To reiterate, uShip doesn't employ or subcontract drivers. We are a website, not a transportation company.

Our phone is working and we are here taking calls. I am not sure why the customer was unable to reach us, but he can certainly leave a voice mail or email us and we're happy to work with him to come to a resolution with the transporter.
