Reguard Verizon DSL & Home Phone Service. In November 2003 I received a collection notice from collection company of America, for the amount of 37.50 I called Venison and asked them what this is about they advise me that it was a mistake that I was credited 37.50 but their DSL service department did not receive the credit and therefore showed as a debit for 37.50 witch automatic went to collections, they could not tell me why I did not revive a it on my phone bill instead going right to collections. Verizon did apologize for the in convince and issued me a conformation number to give to Collection company of America , which I did and that was the last time I received any information in regard of this..
Now two years later July 18 2006 I received another Collections letter from This time from CBCS for the amount of 37.50.. I called them and advised them of the conformation number I had, they wear very rude and did not want to hear anything but wanted their money.
I called Verizon Monday and after being passed around no less then 12 times, I finely got someone who was able to help, she was able to pull up the record and saw that I was all paid up, but the DSL department still showed that I owed 37.50. she said that she will transfer me to the dsl office and have them clear this up.
After 4 hours I finely got someone who knows what they are doing Right? WRONG after she transferred me I got a recording The office is now closed
I recall Verizon Tuesday, after a hour of playing hot patio with me The last person said that her computer locked up and I will need to callback.
Now it is wedsday . Once again played hot patio I was getting a little upset of the incompetence of the people working at verizon. After about a hour they said that they can not open some of the records and their is nothing they can do for me.
I advised them that it was not the money but the principle of the thing why pay the bill twice.?, and that I am going pay the bill again. And will be closing my verizon accounts Both phone lines and all 4 cell phones. I will also be filing a report with the CPUC and with Ripoffreport.com

This is typical Verizon behavior...

I too am getting ripped off by Verizon. They have charged me over 1200.00 in fees, in less than 4 months for "bundle" package of telephone cable and internet. You will continue to get the run around from these idiots. The more people you talk to, the more lies you will hear. The customer service reps are not authorized to issue any sort of credit, at any level. They supposedly make the requests, but the credit requests get kicked out. Keep a detailed log of your conversations. This is the only hope you have to go to battle with these idiots. If these charges have been reported to your credit report, file a complaint to the credit bureaus against Verizon and tell them you are disputing the charges.
Go to Bill Handle's web site (he does a radio show in LA called Handle on the Law) and he has good form letters that you can get the collection company to sign, and settle the account for less than what they say you owe. You can also send your complaints to our governor with copy of your communication log and ask him to investigate Verizon's practices.
