I signed up for an advertising / listing account with a very small monthly commitment and a maximum limit for "click through" from their site to mine.  This was placed on auto-billing to a credit card.  After several months I noticed that the click-through count suddenly spiked and that I was being billed substantially more than the maximum authorized.  Further, downloading the performance logs showed that I was being billed for many more "click throughs" than were present in the logs.  In addition, the origin of the spiked traffic was from a couple servers registered to this marketing firm.  It appears to me that Verizon - ideal.arc SuperPages had created an method of artificial income enhancement for their benefit.  I canceled my service with them and requested a rebate.  They countered by refusing to stop charging on the auto-pay credit card.  The charges continued until the credit card company changed the card number.

It will be more appropriate for Verizon / Idearc / Superpages to post a functional telephone number for   an upper level, senior management problem resolution executive.  Name, title and number please.

I have successfully sent email.  The problem is Verizon / Superpages did not respond to my correspondence in the past and does not respond now.

My email system works wonderfully well.  My email system lets me know when Verizon / Superpages makes another rebuttal posting to this rip-off report!

Do NOT do business with Superpages!   If you already are doing business with Verizon / Idearc / Superpages the download your server log files and save them.  Compare your server logs to the billing you receive.  Complain to your Attorney General about abuse.

Email to the corrected email address provided above are neither acknowledged nor are they returned as undeliverable.

If anyone is interested in initiating a class action law suit
against Verizon for fraud I'll be happy to participate and provide support using the statistics
reports I downloaded from the superpages site before I left.  These
clearly document the fraud through churning and billing for false "click through's", etc. which I described in my original report.

Verizon Customer Service Robot

AUTHOR: AKJIM - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, February 25, 2011

It appears to me that Verizon has a robot watching RipOffReport.com because:  This customer service rebuttal was posted within minutes of my filing this ripoff report and the text is the same as was posted as a rebuttal to other reports.  Further, email to the misspelled email address provided are neither acknowledged nor are they returned as undeliverable.

If anyone out there is interested in initiating a class action law suit against Verizon for this fraud I'll be happy to provide the statistics reports I downloaded from the superpages site before I left.  These clearly document the billing fraud I described in my report.
