Virgin America Refusal To Apply Offered Discount To A Purchase, Internet

This isn't the worst ripoff in the world, but I think it falls to unexpectedly bad customer service.  I booked travel on VirginAmerica, an airline I like very much and three days later, through my gym membership, was offered an unrelated 21% discount on all travel booked through Virgin. 

Now, generally speaking any company selling a service I've ever dealt with has honored their own coupon if it was offered so soon after I purchased something from them.  Most will honor their own coupons within 30 days of purchase.  This isn't any sort of legal requirement, of course, but it is good service.

Virgin's call-center representative absolutely refused.  Her supervisor not only refused by was rude about it.  I went through their public affairs contact and was refused again.

Virgin built its reputation, and charge a premium for tickets, based on its superior service.  I think this is contrary to that and that the story should be out there.
