After a bad experience with another VOIP provider which I will not name at this time I switched to Vocalocity.
From the onset I should have realized this was a bad decision. Right from the start I had phone problems. I tried several different phones, and even tried using them at 3 different locations with 2 separate ISPs. I would call Vocalocity's support, only to be put on hold for an average of 1 hour 20 minuets (I called in 7 times before giving up for a grand total of over 9 HOURS ON HOLD!). The Vocalocity rep would then explain that the problems were anything but theirs. Vocalocity, they would explain only provides the line, and if there test of the line from Atlanta turned out ok then it must be something on your end. Kourtenay James, the last Vocalocity rep I spoke with was exceptionally rude, and continued explaining that any problems I had were my fault, and they don't support the phones. She said if I had a problem with that it was too bad, and when I asked to speak to her supervisor, David Politis, she said he would call me. He still hasn't.
I liked the idea of a hosted PBX, and so I stuck it out. But after using the PBX, I realized that the average wait time to log in was 47 seconds!! 47 seconds just to log into Vocalocity's web site!!
There customer services reps are rude, and seem to not understand computers or technology. I was repeatedly told the problem was on my end, even though the phones would work with other VOIP providers just fine, and wouldn't work with them.
When I signed up in November, I asked Vocalocity to port my number over, in January when it still hadn't been ported over I was told they forgot to file the paperwork, and I would have to wait again for the number to port over. They finally got it done in February
I now have to continue to pay for service for the next 2 months, wile I pay for service with a new company so I can port my number over to that new company and not loose it. Hopefully they don't forget this time.
