There are MANY GSD breeders out there, some good, some bad, some worse so why take a chance and buy a dog from a breeder that is proven to sell genetically defective and sick dogs?!?! Do you want to fork out $5-$10,000 or more in vet bills?!?!? Then keep searching and stay away from Vom Ron German Shepherds. This is the story about a dog they sold me and refused to replace per contract/health guarantee. I have original emails to prove this, not the email they cut and pasted parts of 3 or 4 emails to make the one they posted on their website.

They sold me a dog with ELBOW DYSPLASIA and WOBBLER'S SYNDROME!! I also have I knowledge of another dog they sold with ED, one that died within a week of buying it and Vom Ron told them too bad it was in your care. They don't have one once of compassion for these sick dogs and once out of their hands you are on your own regardless of what your contract/health guarantee says or what they tell you. Once they have the money they don't care!!!

I bought a puppy from this breeder that came with a health guarantee. When he was 1 1/2 years old he was diagnosed with Elbow Dysplasia and his vet bills to diagnose and treat with surgery were close to $5,000!!!

Vom Ron 1st offered to replace the dog per our contract which states breeder will replace at no cost to buyer and buyer has choice to retain original dog if spayed/neutered, and gave me the option of two 4 month old females they couldn't sell from a prior litter (dog I purchased was an 8 week old male, sable) (I also had a very strong dominate female I got from a very good breeder in WI so getting another female wasn't a good match) or a puppy of my choice from 2 upcoming litters (I have emails to prove everything).

When I didn't want either of the 2 four month old females they couldn't sell they got angry and refused to replace the dog and therefore was in breach of contract. They then had 101 excuses why they wouldn't replace him; said they would not replace him as long as I had a Belgian Malinois as 2 males would kill each other (all 3 dogs I had live in perfect harmony and have pics to prove it) I had to pay them $1,000 dollars because they now sell them for more, they would replace him when I returned the 1st dog (which isn't in compliance with the contract and I had just forked out $5k!!!! Who would give that dog back?!?!) they claimed I caused the genetic disorder by first allowing the dog to play with other dogs, then by him being over weight ( which is funny because the only time the dog had any additional weight on him was when I got him from them and have pics and vet records to prove this). There are many more excuses they used to try and get out of the contract. All RIDICULOUS!!! They also said the dog I have isn't the dog they sold me, CRAZY, especially since THEY microchipped him!!!

Interesting thing is I have a female GSD I brought from WI that is 6 WEEKS OLDER than the dog I purchased from Vom Ron and she is PERFECTLY HEALTHY, they grew up together, ate the same 5 star rated dog food, did the same activities, same exercise same EVERYTHING yet only the dog I bought from Vom Ron has genetic health issues!!!!! If I could cause ED or Wobbler's Syndrome why would I pick on this dog?!? Of my 2 dogs this dog had the best working dog potential, makes no sense because it didn't happen!!

During the time these emails were being sent Vom Ron changed their contract/health guarantee and tried to hold me to the new one, LUDICROUS!!!!

In late October early November 2011 they emailed me and said they had a litter due in December and they would be replacing the dog. We spoke over and over by email about the upcoming litter and all the sudden about 2 weeks prior to the expected litter they sent me an email asking if I had sent the X-rays to OFA?

Of course they NEVER asked for this before then and I called them the day they X-rayed his elbows and he was diagnosed and never asked, I spoke to them and let them know the date of surgery, no mention of OFA, I called them the day before surgery, no mention of OFA. MY CONTRACT says NOTHING about OFA, but their new one does and again they think they could bully me into being responsible for the new one!! Had they EVER mentioned his X-rays going to OFA in ANY of the phone calls prior to surgery I could have had the vet re take them while he was under anesthesia the day of surgery but they didn't and because the X-rays were taken for diagnostic purposes ONLY they weren't done with his microchip or AKC # on them and they cannot certify X-rays post surgery!!! Of course they know that!! Oh and they also said I voided the contract by having surgery on the dog and not giving them an option to do what they wanted with the dog. Of course that wasn't in MY contract and I don't even think it is in the new one they made. And even if it was I DID call them and kept them informed EVERY step of the way!! And what would they have done with him?? They would not have paid that kind of money for surgery they would have euthanized him!!

Well to add to the health issues in December 2012 I came home to find this dog unable to walk on his own without falling over, I took him to the vet where he did X-rays and said his lumbar spine was the spine of a 14 year old dog and he needed to see a specialist. An appt was made but he couldn't get in for about 3 weeks. I sent Vom Ron emails that of course went unanswered so I posted a video on the Internet of the dog having difficulty walking. They (along with a number of alias' ) posted comments like how cruel, put that dog to sleep, asked what I hit the dog with, and when I posted anyone wanting to contact my vet to prove no trauma caused this email me they changed it to what did I drug him with, that the dog was obviously frightened of me. They accused me of abusing my dogs (before this and this was another excuse they used to not replace the dog).

They either called or had someone else call and wasted the SPCAs time they said they saw a video and was concerned. BS!!! They didn't say they were the breeder and a dispute was on going!!! Then they posted on the Internet that the investigator said although the dog was in a horrible state their hands were tied as the dog is under a vets care. I IMMEDIATELY called this investigator and asked how she could make any statement about what the do looked like as she didn't even want to see the dog after I repeatedly offered. Of course she said she never made that statement. I also told her (when she came out) that he had been back to the vet 3 times and I was told it wasn't an urgent issue therefore he had no cause to get an urgent next day appt and I had to wait for r next available appt.

He underwent a $1,800 MRI and was diagnosed with Wobbler's Syndrome. He showed me the results and said although his lumbar spine was severely arthritic it wasn't causing any problems, pain or any of his current symptoms.

The issue was in his cervical spine and was causing the lack of coordination in all 4 extremities. He had never seen Wobblers in a GSD and none of any vets he knows has either. He said I could in NO WAY CAUSE THIS!! He said it goes back to his genetic make up and was a breeding issue.

So he had surgery $2,600 (would have been closer to $10,000 at any other place but since this is the first Gsd he knows of that was diagnosed with wobblers). He called me the day after surgery and said it was the worst case of Wobbler's Syndrome he's ever seen and only time would tell. I got daily updates but on day 3 post op they said he wasn't eating and was only trying to sit up in his kennel. (which shocked me because he is a HIGHLY food motivated dog as well as pray drive!!). So they allowed me to visit and as soon as he knew I was there he tried to get up off the table they were wheeling him in when they lifted him off and went to lay him down he stood up for 1st time since surgery and tried to walk to me and of course he scarfed up his food, they all laughed and said he just needed his mom to eat. Each day I visited him they said the broke he improved and 3 days after he 1st stood and tried to walk to me he was pulling the vet tech down the hall to get to me to go home!!! I told them all the breeder had posted comments that the dog obviously feared me and they all laughed. They said the love and bond between us is obvious on both sides!!!! He is now 2 months post op and is improving weekly.

The breeder also made comments that I had talked about how well he was doing after his elbow surgery for ED. So what?!?! Does that change the fact he has ED?!?!!! No, he still cannot compete in MondioRing or any dog sport, he still has the genetic disorder!!! And the affects of ED will still affect him as an older dog!!!

They are such a reputable breeder they have to use alias' to make comments about their dogs to try and get business and were caught on pedigree database doing this and someone made a comment that aren't you the owner of Vom Ron and of course they ignored the comment!!! Then they placed a. "Public Notice" on their website saying I am an Internet stalker and they offered to replace the dog and I refused. WHAT A JOKE!!!! And they cut and pasted comments from 3-4 emails to make the email they posted. They didn't post all the excuses they made to not replace the dog!!! If they had made an offer to replace him or refund my money and stuck to it this would be over as I have stated MANY times to her that just because a breeder sells a dog with ED or any other genetic disorder doesn't make them a bad breeder. I understand even the best bred dogs can produce a dog with a genetic issue. What makes a BAD BREEDER is what they are doing!!!! A bad breeder doesn't replace the dog when I have a contract that says they will!!! A BAD BREEDER blames the buyer!! A BAD BREEDER gets on the Internet and dog forums and posts hateful comments under their name and many alias'. A BAD BREEDER posts lies and slander!!! It is so obvious to anyone looking at this that guilty people do stuff like what they are doing to try and place blame on anyone else but them!!!

Once he is released from the vet's care I will be filing a $5,000 breach of contract and slander lawsuit.

SHAME on Vom Ron for selling a dog like this and not taking responsibility!!!! And they are STILL breeding the sire & dam of this dog so do you want to take a chance and get a dog like this???? I would hope not, there are way toooooo many good breeders out there.

I will tell anyone that reads this what I told everyone else. If you want the truth not the lies they post email me and I will send you ALL the emails that were exchanged between me and Vom Ron and will prove everything I say!! I was contacted by a number of people from forums they posted lies on and I sent them the emails and they saw I was telling the truth!! I do not want anyone else have to go through the heartache I have gone through with this dog and it is such a shame, this could be such an awesome working dog!!! He is strong mentally and physically, has awesome drives, is highly intelligent, loyal, loving and sweet!!!! But all this is a waste because he cannot be a working dog because of BAD BREEDING not because of anything I did or didn't due to this dog. It is sad as he started training in MondioRing and LOVED it and would have gone far but all training had to stop when he was diagnosed with ED.

Stay away from Vom Ron, if you want the name of a reputable breeder contact me, I have met many since purchasing this dog, ALL of which would have replaced this dog from day one, no problem!! A number of which have offered to GIVE me a puppy at no cost to me when I am ready!!!!

At this point they couldn't pay me to take a dog from Vom Ron, I want my purchase money back or I will sue them for $5k for breach of contract and slander and for the return of ALL vets costs.
