I think it's unfair that Wachovia Dealer Services treats their customers unnecessarily harsh when attepting to make payment arrangments especially since their business practices; particularly use of their telephone and website (which allows free payments) services do not allow you to make payments at all times like many other pay online businesses. The Wachovia pay online is a pay all or nothing type of service which prevents people from making smaller or unscheduled payments that would help them to avoid repossions and/or adverse credit reporting. It only allows you to make payments in set amount during set times. It seems as if Wachovia wants its customers to default on loans.

NO ALL BUSINESSES ARE NOT LIKE THIS!

AUTHOR: Thetanya - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 15, 2009

This company is completely the opposite of any company I have ever worked with, they do indeed try to make you default on your car, that is thier rip off. When you are in a long running business transaction you lose your right to choose. NEVER have I been treated the way I am by this bank, they are employing poor and unfare business practices in the following ways:
1. They literally refuse loan payments not made by western union or money order, they refused a check for the total amount owed on my car because it was not done by western union. They will not ever admit thier mistakes even if they bill you for the wrong amount! It is not reasonable (OR A PART OF THE CONTRACT) to refuse payemnts by check, in my case due to one bounced check that was immediately rectified...
2. They hold checks and run up late fees and then charge late fees on those late fees if they are not paid.
3. By working with the customer, ie spreading one missed payment over three months the company loses nothing and can and should charge a fee, however when wachovia chooses to repo your car instead of working out a pyment option, especially at a time when thousands are being laid off in no small part because of banks like wachovia who nearly brought our country down, they have to be able to rectify an acoount without having thier car towed and incurring thousands of fees. They are taking loans that are going to be paid in full and making them essentially worthless to the bank, while they ruin credit and lives in the process.
4. The bank is getting high interest rates and loaning to peole they know cannot get a loan elsewhere and then after the people struggle they repo the cars, this is predatory lending by anyones definition.
5. I was laid off 7 years ago and was working with toyoa finacial, they were a godsend, they let me make up my 3 missed payments in 100 dollars segments and yes it went on my account as 3 late moneth, but not every month therafter the way wachovia would have marked these payments for the 9 months it took me to catch back up.
7. Hello I did not just almost bring down the entire financial system with bad mortgages.. they did.^. Wachovia got millions of dollars and went belly up yet they want to act like I should pay my bills.. you willl see a thier litle gnomes on this site defending something they don't really understand with comments like PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME etc... apparently this only applies to people and not large mullti million dollar cess pools of greed who get tax payer handouts while we all get laid off!

NO BUSINESS DOES THIS

AUTHOR: Thetanya - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 14, 2009

This is not the way to do business, if you want to collect the money you understand that in life things may be late from time to time, a check might bounce, you have to give people a chance to make a situation right. If you get laid off, or have a medical emergency peopple are paying 20-25% on these loans, that is a SERVICE CHARGE that should come with some service. SO penalize the late payments, add money on to the loan, but these tactic, to wreck people and their credit are insane. They are approving people they know can pay these loans and it is predatory! Blah blah pay you bills on time! You are talking huge sums of money we are giving these people. They can get three 100 dollar checks in a month without wrecking credit over it! What ever happened to good faith? Not at this bank!

Unfair?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 10, 2009

You didn't think it was unfair when they agreed to lend you several thousand dollars for a car? So, why is it unfair when they want to hold you to that legal agreement?

By the way if you are close to reposession, making smaller payments to try and avoid it wont' work. At this point just about every bank would require all past due amounts to be paid.

In your case there is no such thing as an "unscheduled" payment. Because if you are late the only thing unscheduled about it is that you are past the time you should have made the payment.
