SUPPOSEDLY the Leading Giant in competing with other stores and SuperMarkets; Wal-Mart offers to customer's an incentive for shopping with Price Matching; where you can do a One Stop Shop experience. Price Matching at Wal-Mart is where, other local stores place ads in the weekly advertisements that have products at a discounted or sale price and if you take the ad to Wal-Mart the store will honor the ad and give you the same price of the product.
Only you end up still needing to go to the other store anyway because suddenly on the week of the ad, Wal-Mart's shelves are either stocked with a very minimal supply of the product advertised, have a different size of the product, or non of the advertised products, so they don't have to honor the price match from the competitors ad.
If Wal-Mart have grown tired or losing money with Price Matching, why don't they just simply STOP promoting it instead of being SNEAKY AND DECEITFUL; deceiving unsuspecting customers who have to either stil go to the advertised product's store to get the honored ad or just buy a larger product no advertised.
THAT'S WRONG & UNETHICAL

How in the world do people think up these things

So in a NUT shell, you are basically accusing Walmart of some how manipulating the stock on their shelves.
Which means that some marketing major high up in Walmart came up with the theory to just pretend to do Price match. With the logic that when a person comes in the store to buy an item we will intentionally not sell it to them and let that sale go to another store...Yea totally logical.
Okay so let's just take a look at what is required for YOUR theory to work.
For them to intentionally reduce their inventory for advertised items they would have to know what is going to be in the ad before the ad is released to the general public. The reson for this is that these big box stores place their orders anywhere from days to months in advance. When the ad comes out to the general public it is already too late. So for this part of your theory to work, Walmart would have to have a spy in the marketing department of every other competitor.
Oh but you say...they can just take merchandise off of the shelves. Okay, let's look at that. If you count all of the major retailers they could look at, there are probably well over 1000 separate items on sale combined in any given week. So now, for this part of your theory to work. Walmart has to take additional labor hours to have it's employees remove the stock from the shelves. Not only that but when the sale is over spend the same amount of time putting those items back.
Oh but now you say that it is still worth it because the price match is so popular and they are still loosing more money by doing the price match then the labor is costing them. Okay...so here is a thought. If it is so popular according to you, isn't it just possible that the reason there are no items that could be prices matched from the other stores ad is because other Walmart customers already bought them and got their price match? Which would mean by the time you got there, there were none left?
Yea I know that last one was to logical for you...Sorry.
