Every weekend I go to Wal-Mart and they have a bunch of bums stationed at the entrances to hassle the customers.  They ask for money for madeup reasons and try to give you a .33 cent candy bar in exchange for at least a dollar.  They must think I am stupid, like I am going to pay them three times as much for a candy bar when I can go buy it for .33 cents right there, at the store I am trying to enter.

I am sick of being hassled by these people.  I know that someone is rounding up the homeless off the streets of Indianapolis or Cincinnati and trucking them into these small town stores to beg, since the big cities have ordinances against panhandling.

How do I know this, you ask?  I'll tell you.  There were a few clothing stores and jewellry stores around here that have closed up.  They had these people holding signs at intersections announcing the closings and they are the same ones that beg outside Wal-Mart.  The same people are out there holding a sign one week, the next they're wanting you to give them a dollar to send a kid to camp and the next week they're wanting a dollar to give Billy a new kidney.  They are professional beggars.  No one really has all of those interests, like a parent doing something for a local school.

I have complained many times about these people.  They block the doors and make it difficult to enter and exit, even though management has warned them repeatedly to stay fifteen feet away from the door.  They won't do it.  Yesterday I got hit in the ankle by woman pushing a cart because the woman in front of me was accosted by the beggars and stopped right in front of me, causing me to stop and get hit by a cart.  I was right in the doorway, and so close to the beggars that I could smell the cocoa butter in their hair.  How is that fifteen feet from the door?

I want these people out of my town, out of my way and I'm going to sit here and tell them this:  I will call management anytime I see you violating your fifteen feet rule.  Keep it up, hopefully I'll get to escalate this issue higher up the ladder and corporate will forbid anyone from panhandling at Wal-Mart.  Then you might have to actually work instead of begging.

Some smart phones/ and I phones have an app that is a db meter. If you can use this to measure the level and if it is excessive show it to the police. They will probably laugh at you though.

The Cold Has Kept Some of Them Away

AUTHOR: Walter - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, December 03, 2010

They've not been around for awhile...their type hates the cold and it has been cold here!  Now we've got the bellringers out there trying to suck all the change out of our pockets.  Not pushy, actually most of them are gimpy and can't crowd anyone...but I hate having to hear those bells.

Does anyone know how I can get a decibel meter and find out out if they're violating our noise ordinance?  It's no more than 80 decibels at fifty feet, I bet they're in violation, but how do I prove it?
