I bought a Durabrand TV on the 28th of December, 2005. It is June the 23rd, 2006, less than 6 month later and the TV will not even power on.
Wal Mart says they will not take it back because it is past their 90 days returns policy.
Now we are out 100 bucks, have a broken TV and can't afford a new one while they got away selling junky, low quality electronics and getting rich that way.
Wal Mart has surely changed from customer friendly to place where you get ripped off since old Sam left us.
Greed has taken over.

Well, your first mistake was buying a "Durabrand". Those are disposable electronics. Might as well avoid GPX while you're at it.
Second, the blue and yellow electronics store, as well as the red electronics store ALSO have a 14-30 day return policy. 90 days is almost unheard of, and 6 months is laughable.
Third - The 13" Durabrand TV is only 59.62. Where the other 40.38 came from is anyone's guess.
Your complaint seems to be more with "general retail" then specifically Wal-Mart. ANY retailer would tell you to contact the manufacturer for repair or replacement. That's even high end electronics, like Sony and JVC.
Did you try contacting the manufacturer?

Over the last four months, I bought a DVD player, an electric knife, and a bbq grill from WalMart. The DVD player and the electric knife never made it to 120 days. The grill only lasted for one use but the manufacturer took care of that.
I have noticed that the boxes indicate that the products are "Made for Walmart" by XXX Company. Apparently WalMart has made special arrangements for brand name items and it's pretty apparent that quality is lost when it's "Made for WalMart". I have even read of one manufacturer refusing to correct problems if it was purchased through WalMart.
I needed to get a toaster, a tea kettle, a microwave, and new kitchen towels today. I'm happy to say that I went to Target. I've had enough of WalMart. I shudder to think what will happen when WalMart runs everyone else out of business. How sad.
