Walgreen's Pharmacy I WILL NEVER SHOP AT WALGREEN'S AGAIN Mission Viejo, California

If I read your post correctly, you went to a local Walgreens pharmacy which had a sign on the door saying their nearest 24 hour location is in a town 35 minutes away, you never bothered to look across the street to see the CVS and you blame WALGREENS??? Are you on crack?

If you went to a McDonald's and it was closed, but the sign on the door said, "Nearest 24 hour location 1 hour away" would think there were no other fast food restaurants nearby, or would you realize it pertained to McDonald's locations ONLY?

Obviously the sign meant the closest 24 hour WALGREENS pharmacy was in that location, not the closest 24 hour pharmacy AT ALL. I think even your 2 year old child would have realized that had he not been in such pain. Oh, and as much as you try to lay your child's pain on Walgreens' doorstep, they did not break your son's collar bone. HE did.

Not only do you imply that you got the needed medication for your child, which I assume was the most important thing to you, but you further imply you did not spend any money in the Walgreens store. Yet you wrote a "Rip Off Report". How exactly were you ripped off?

How is Walgreens ripping you off by not informing you of their competition? Who said they were the directory for all the pharmacies in your state? In this day and age, with the economy where it is, do you truly believe ANY store wanting to stay in business will steer you to another store's location?

And of course the pharmacist would say the same thing! It's their store! He's not going to tell you, "Go across the street to CVS" or he would not have a job the next night! You must be out of your ever loving gourd to seriously believe they have a moral obligation to direct you to another company.

If you think Charles R. Walgreen, Sr. would have wanted to lose money because you think Macy's should tell you to go to Gimbels, I suggest you are far from correct. You were not ripped off, and anyone with an ounce of sense would have realized the sign and the pharmacist were referring to the closest Walgreens pharmacy. Get real.

If CVS was available, go there. It isn't Walgreen's fault that you failed to plan.

Do you seriously think that the Associated Press or the LA Times are going to stop the presses because you went to the pharmacy after they were closed? Guess what? Most pharmacies in the country close at night. That doesn't mean that you were ripped off.

What if you had gone to a CVS that was closed? Would you be writing the same report for CVS?

I ran the zip code for the store you mentioned and the closest 24 hour Walgreens is indeed the one in Tustin. When you asked the manager did you ask where the closest 24 hour Walgreens pharmacy was located or the nearest 24 hour pharmacy from any company? If he thought you were asking about Walgreens, he was being truthful.
