We paid more than $2300. for the best service Warranty Direct offers to provide the security they claim to offer. In 3 years we have had 2 claims.
The first was an NO2 sensor failure, cost to repair in a certified facility was about $300. all they would pay was less than $100. after the deductable, so our cost on this was more than $200. We checked both the dealer and 3 legitimate shops and we used the least expensive and the approved repair cost was far short of the acutal cost to do this job.
The second claim, just finished, was to replace a water pump and the timing belt, which had been soaked in anti-freeze. This time the certified repair facility, using the lowest price offered was more than $800. The dealership and/or a VOLVO specialty shop cost more than $1000. All that Warranty Direct would approve was $592. so with the deductable (100) we recieved about half of the actual cost.
No legitimate repair facility will do auto repairs for the amount they authorize, so you can expect to either suck up a large part of the cost or take your expensive auto to some backyard bozo for repairs.
Bottom line, these clowns at Warranty Direct/Interstate national Dealer Services will do everything they can to avoid paying for the "peace of mind" and "service" they offer in the sales pitch. After you pay several thousand dollars for your aggreement, expect that you will still have to pay more than your deductable to have your car repaired. ALSO, be aware that every facility I have gone to, wanted nothing to do with them, required that I pay the bill in full and then file a claim for what they would pay.
This whole thing, I think, is a big scam, and a plan to decieve from the start. They take a lot of money to pay the sales people huge commission, about 50% and equally large saleries to the company owners and then do everything they can to not provide the services they claim to be providing.
BE VERY CAUTIOUS WITH THESE CLOWNS! If someone wanted to take legal action, I would be glad to participate.
