In mid October  of 2012 I received a call form a person, Bill Moesch, who stated that he  needed a painting crew because his painter was not working out, He asked  me to meet with him we met later that day. He said they control 12
apartment complexes in the area and had plenty of work. A week later I  sent him my insurance info, and a W-9. He called me about a week later  saying he needed to send me information to submit invoices, I waited for  this e-mail, but never received it. On Nov. 17th 2012, Bill called me that afternoon, asking if I could paint 2 apartments starting Monday Nov. 20th  2012. I agreed & arrived at his office that morning at 8 am. A person   Named Vick, showed me the  apartments to paint. Each apartment was 3423 sq.  feet. I went to get the paint which I purchased, bought my crew over and  we painted the apartment. We had to paint the whole apartment, it took two  coats because the remodeling crew used permanent markers on the walls,  there was overspray of popcorn from the ceilings & nicks and scrapes everywhere, also all the trim had to be painted along with most of he doors. This was also the case with the other apartment. I met with Bill  the nrxt Monday, I stopped in to tell him that the apartment took 3 days  to do, and that I would charge him only for my expenses, ( pay for my crew and cost of paint ) $600 for each apartment. He said that he will not pay me, that he would only pay $200. I told him that I cannot afford to loose 2/3rds of the cost of doing the job and that I am only giving him this price  because I am hoping that we can work together. He called me 2 days later and said he found some problems, I went to walk the apartments, we walked 1 apartment & it became clear that he was trying to manufacture a complaint to avoid paying me, I told him this & left. I have yet to be  paid for my work and believe I am the victim of a scam they are running with paint companies.

Weinstein Properties has a Track Record of ripping off tennants and anyone they can.

AUTHOR: Resident - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 14, 2018

This report by G. Freeman about how you ripped him off is nothing unusual and just appears to be the way you operate your business. His experience with Weinstein is not an isolated incident. You rip off people and apparently think it’s ok because in your response to G. Freeman you didn’t even take responsibility for your actions. Here is what you stated:

"We take our Mission seriously; to treat our vendors and customers as we would personally like to be treated. In the case of this complaint, we believe that our decision and actions were justified and appropriate"

So you personally like being treated as a fool and you like to work for free? You state that you treat people how you want to be treated and judging by the way you treated not only Mr. Freeman, but residents of your property this seems to be the case

Of course you believe that your decisions were justified because in your minds you don’t care about anyone but yourselves, by your actions and treatment of others and willingness to rip them off, both residents and employees it’s obvious that profits take priority over human beings at Weinstein Properties it appears to be your company culture.

It appears as though Weinstein properties wanted to get some free work out of Mr. Freeman and had no issue duping him into working for free and then turning the situation around and acting like it was his fault.

It’s clear that Weinstein has a track record of ripping off tenants at their properties by the overwhelming number of tenants who needlessly have carpets replaced at a cost close to $1000, cabinets resurfaced, miscellaneous fees and other tricks of the trade that your company Weinstein uses in order to essentially STEAL money from hard working residents.

Anytime a resident attempts to reason with your management about the charges they are left with unanswered phone calls, excuses, denial and basically you force them to pay by holding their rental history and credit history hostage by threatening to blemish both if they don’t pay. Apparently you treat your vendors with the same contempt.

I have read the response to my complaint and find it non factual in many respects. We did not agree on a price for painting those apartments. I had earlier met with Bill and we discussed touch painting of apartments.

Secondly, Bill called me on a friday afternoon asking me to paint these apartments on monday and He would be on vacation. We did not agree to a price, but I did say that I would be reasonable. Bill said He would not pay me as soon as I told him what my cost were for doing the job, this was prior to walking through the one apartment.

When we did walk through the apartment, it became clear to me that he was trying to get me to agree with him that there was a problem where none existed, when I didn't agree, He became insulting. I left and sent him an invoice for each apartment to see what his reaction would be. It made no difference.

This was all a ploy to cloud the subject in an attempt justify a theft of service and materials. I have seen nothing to assure me that they did infact hire someone else, there was no attempt to deduct the price of hiring someone else from the invoices I sent them.

I take pride in my work and have had no complaints on any of the work I have done. I have references if needed. This company has stolen from me and arrogantly suggest that they are entitled to go so. They have many apartments of that type, which means that they can produce many pictures. They called me saying that their last painter was not showing up for work.   ( "Go Figure " )

Response to Orignial Report

AUTHOR: weinsteinproperties - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 05, 2013

At Weinstein Properties, we take our Mission seriously; to treat our vendors and customers as we would personally like to be treated. In the case of this complaint, we believe that our decision and actions were justified and appropriate. The Maintenance Supervisor and Mr. Freeman agreed upon specific guidelines for painting two apartments, including a time frame for completion. When notified by the vendor that the work was complete, we inspected the apartments and were dissatisfied with the quality of the job, as well as the work that had not been finished. As with any similar situation, we attempted to come to an agreement as to what needed to be corrected; however, due to Mr. Freemans unwillingness to resolve the situation amicably it was necessary for us to hire another vendor to complete the job. All of the specific issues were documented and discussed with Mr. Freeman, but the service provided did not meet the agreed upon criteria; for this reason, Mr. Freeman was not compensated.
