I am writing this to back up a previous report made by C. r. Florida on 1/17/2013. I read his report about the issues he had with his Well Guru system and the clorinator cap blowing off. I also read the rebuttal by the owner Eric Watson.

The fact is I had the exact same things happen to me. First I was told the Well Guru was the best system around. It was designed by Eric Watson with the best of parts. I was told the water would be better than any water around and it was basically a maintenance free system. Other than adding salt and chlorine I could go 10 years without the need for any service.

Well for starters I had tannis in my water and the water was yellow. I sent Eric Watson a sample of my water for testing so he could "design the system for my specific water issues." After the system was installed my water was still yellow. I went back and forth with him about the color issue and he kept deflecting the situation. I did have to have another well drilled due to insufficient water volume but his system was not changed in any way and in fact the new well had less iron content and better water than the first well. Eric Watson used the fact I used another well to infer I changed his system which I did not.

One day I see all this water out my back yard and learned the cap to the chlorinator had blown off and water was leaking from my system. I too could not find a replacement part and was told it was a pool chlorinator and not meant for pressures of a well system.

Since I had been given the run around with Eric I decided to call another reputable company out to take a look at my system. Here is what I learned. First the parts used (which are good parts) are redily available at plumbing supply places. They were not designed by Eric. Secondly, Eric said the system was good for 10 or 15 years and I learend there is no substance that is used as a filter media that lasts for 15 years.

They media he used (the charcoal) is the same used by everyone and is only good for 2 to 3 years depending on use. I learned the water chlorinator was for a pool. The chlorine tablets for water chlorination really is not meant to purify drinking water it is more for pool use. Lastly, the yellow water was from tannis and the only way to get rid of that was to use a special filter media to take out the tannis.

When it was all said and done it cost me another $1,000 for them to get it done right. I have yet to have any issues with my system.

The other bone of contention was that Eric in his advertising said he uses 1" pipe. When he installed my system he used 3/4" pipe. It was not as advertised. This other company questioned my on why I didn't have 1 " pipe and I told them that was what was installed. They also changed out all the pipe.

I did file a complaint withe the BBB which I knew would not do any good but to maybe alert others of this company. Eric Watson did have a rebuttle to my compaint and like with C.r. Florida accussed me of being harrassing and unreasonable. I can assure you I was not. I was merely trying to get Eric Watson to stand behind his product.

When I came accross the article here by C.r. Florida I felt compelled to back up his situation so others may see that the Well Guru system and Eric Watson are not what they sell themselves to be. I should have know when I asked Eric Watson for references I was told he does not give out references as he does not want any of his customers to be bothered by other people. I can see now why he does not give out references.

I would not recommend anyone getting a Well Guru system unless you want to have issues down the road. For sure the chlorinator he uses is for pool use. I too contacted the manufactuer of the chlorinator and was told the same thing as C.r. Florida it is for pool use. I now have a chlorinator for well use and have not had any issues

Your Complaint has No Merit

AUTHOR: Eric - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, May 06, 2014

Ken,  Your System was engineered for "the well" and "the sample" you originally supplied. Your first well had "bad flow"  and you decided to have another well drilled. You tried to use a system not designed to treat Tannins on the new well.  NO two wells are the same, you can not blame us; as you never sent a second water sample to re-apply the System or get an update.

You also vanished for many months "between years" inbetween any communication, without following any remedie(s).

Your own words (and my records indicate) Your Dad threw away half the system in a construction dumpster during your remodels,  then bought a bunch or generic low quality filters from some Guy on Craigslist and then a Tannin system from some local Dealer... You dont own our system.

It's now composed of three mismatched systems... and all on a different well! You're complaining because we did not send you $2000 dollars in parts and labor for free?

Im also going to State for the record not a single other word you said is accurate.

We have thousands and thousands (more then any other shop) of well water customers all over the United States... and ship to 93 Countries, all of our customers have the "highest quality water" technology allows.. and Free Support. We have had 100% CSI for 37 years .

Customer did not do the basic maintenance and Dad lost half the System

AUTHOR: Eric Watson Owner - ()

We have Thousands and Thousands of Satisfied System owners Globally    We have 100% CSI.

.

There will always be customers with any product that do not follow even the most basic instruction..  Our Systems are the easiest to own, trouble free and engineered for a lifetime.

Customers after installing do not need to have us or any dealer maintain our Engineered Well Filtration Systems..the only mechanical mainteance required for proper operation is a $12 dollar  O-Ring that simply drops in under the Cap. Our Chlorinator is a product of 23 years of development (SEE our Web Site Video) for system operation, benefits and feature demonstration.

Consumer rebuttel :  On any plumbing fixtue if a "seal" gets damaged... over tightening or hammering parts is not the answer. Virtually any part on our product can be replaced with no tools in seconds.  Also the customer installed this system and it shows 3/4 inch and 1 inch fittings they have the same diameter/ our Systems have the highest flow rates.  This is explained also on the CD but He did not look at the directions.

This customer did not read the basic mainteance care sheet. The customer recieved our 24/7 FREE support from our Licensed Plumber and would leave the home for long periods ..with never following through it. Customer said his Dad bought half a system off Craigs and it did not work. He said the power head broke and wants us to send him a replacement for the one His Dad accidently discarded with half the system. We offered to send half the system at shop cost and the customer declined the offer but still wants us to fix the products supplied by others.

We have no complaints on our products/systems or support...from owners who care for the system(s) and use our free support in the unlikely event they ever require it.

We are commited to customer satisfaction for 38 years .. and we have solved in 93 Countries some of the worlds toughest water well problems., No other dealer offers this technology .   See our website Video and see why we are #1

Do compare other brands.. who have a large volume of unhappy customers complaints where they are on the "product support or performance" .. who do pay for dealer service.

Report Update

AUTHOR: Ken - ()

POSTED: Friday, November 22, 2013

I just wanted to add to my original report that my system was a new system instlalled on a new house that I just within a week moved into. My issues with my Well Guru system all happend with several months of my getting the system. My chlorinator cap blew off during this time so it could not have been due to lack of maintence or not lubricating the gasket. I infact did read the CD provided by Eric Watson and I made sure I followed all the recommended monthy procedures of bleading the holding tank, adding chlorine and salt. This was purely a defective system.

Also with respect to the yellow water, If Eric Watson was such an expert he should have known based on the (2) samples I sent him as well as the photo of water in a white bucket that it was tannis and he should have recommended or provided me with the correct filter media to resolve the issue. Insted he blamed it on the soil in my area. When the other company came out within minutes they knew what the problem was and resolved it. As like with C.r. Florida they were not there to sell me anything and in fact have yet to ever call me back for any reason. I have been in my house two years now with no other issues becasued they made sure my sustem was set up correctly.
