They do this thing called "the hot seat" where one patient (either mentally ill or a recovering drug addict) who has been being "bad" is placed in a chair in the center of the group and all the patients would verbally "call out" the person in the hot seat for things they didn't like about the person, whether it was forcing to the person in the hits eat to take their medicine, or telling them that they where annoying, we did it for all sorts of things. I think this type of mental abuse is horrendous, crude, abusive, and downright disgusting.
Contrary to the claims on their website and over the phone, hey also house not only members of the same sex in the same house instead of separating the sexes in a "men's house" and "female house" but they also house adolescents (patients UNDER the age of 18!) in these houses alongside adults. I found this also very disturbing and unprofessional.
They need to separate the mentally ill from the recovering drug addicts because the recovering drug addicts just make fun of the mentally ill. I do not understand how the methods used at Wellington Retreat could be productive.

I've read many of the reports regarding over medication, not treating patients with respect no communications, etc. Our daughter is currently at the Wellington Retreat along with other adolescents. My experience with them is that they utilize the minimum amount of medicine they can to treat what ever decease they are dealing with. My daughter is bi-polar so she does take a mood stabilizer. But for other children that are there recovering from drug addiction, I've seen the opposite, they will take away the medicines to try and get to the bottom of the issue and then built up if needed. My experience has been that not only is my daughter getting excellent care and thriving, so are the other children in the facility. I commend them for what they are doing with these children. I cant comment about adult section but as far as the adolescents go they are working miracles!

My daughter is a Wellington client. This is her 9th rehab facility. My family and I now have hope for a life with her free from the horrors and chaos of addiction for the first time! I flew to Florida from Philadelphia for the "Family Retreat Program". I was so impressed with Dr. Moran and his staff's dedication and diligence. I'm glad I made this fruitful journey. I attended back to back seminars, classes and therapy sessions. I learned so much about diseases of the brain. I got to see her progress first hand. The weekend was amazing. Co-existing conditions are addressed and treated by three doctors who run a tight ship. All of our experience has been positive. While our loved one is at Wellington, our family can sleep peacefully at night, knowing that she is safe and on the road to recovery. The staff promptly replies to all of our calls, emails and questions. I wish that we had found Wellington much sooner that we did. They really care.
