It seems to be a trend that Wells Fargo Auto Finance & Balboa Insurance are running a complete scam. I purchased my vehicle in October 2005 & refinanced it with Wells Fargo Auto Finance in April 2006. In October 2006 I switched insurance companies. I was notified by Wells Fargo that they were going to add $1600 to my balance due if I did not provide proof of insurance. I faxed the information several times as well as mailed it twice. Here it is July 2007, Wells Fargo is calling me at work, threatening to reposses my vehicle if I don't pay the $1600. I have talked to at least 8 people in one day at Wells Fargo trying to get it straightened out. They stated I had to straighten it out with Balboa before they could do anything. I have faxed my insurance coverage 8 times to them. At first they said they didn't receive it. Then they said they received it, but it had the wrong address for Wells Fargo on it. I had my insurance give me a new copy of my declaration page w/the correct address on it.

I faxed it again 4 more times. I was then informed that the address I was given was Balboa's address, not Wells Fargo's. I AGAIN had my insurance agent change the address again. I faxed it an additional 4 times as they claimed that they only received 2 out of the 4 pages. Now, at the last time I spoke to Balboa, they have stopped charging my account for insurance from April 2007 going forward. I have yet to see a credit on my Wells Fargo account for that change. I am still waiting for them to 'receive' the other 2 pages which had my coverage from October 06 to April 07. In the mean time, I have Wells Fargo threatening me on the basis I owe them $1600 for bogus insurance. I can't get anyone over there to understand that the $1600 is for the insurance, it's not for payments I have missed on my loan. Instead, I have been racking up late payment hits on my credit report for the past 7 months & it doesn't seem like anyone at Wells Fargo or Balboa is interested in fixing the problem. I even gave in a little & gave them $600 while this is getting straigtened out. Instead, I still have collections calling me wanting the other $1000. If anyone has any solution or a class action suit to join. Please post it on here & let us all know!!! We shouldn't have to be victims of a scam when we are just trying to pay our bills that we REALLY owe & be upstanding citizens.
