We purchased a bedroom set during a friends and family sale event in November of 2011. I came in before the sale had started to do the paperwork since i was going to be away the actual date the sale was. I was told the credit card was 12 months interest free so i decided to give the rep credit and sign up.There is no way I would have signed up for a credit card that was 27% and get nothing in return for. Usually we put everything on our American Express because we can get points for things that we actually can use.

I started receiving bills from Wells Fargo after 1 month with interest. Come to find out if you sign up for a credit card during a sales event the 12months interest free is not what they offer, only when nothing else is offered. I don't know if the sales rep didn't know that or was just trying to get the sale.

This has been in dispute for about 1 1/2 year. I made minimum payments after that till the dispute was settled. In June,my husband spoke to a rep from Wells Fargo collections and came to agreement to pay off the balance minus the payments and interest. We thought it was settled. In August, I got another bill will the interest so clearly nothing was handled. I have not made a payment since then since I feel we don't owe that money. I have faxed numerous times my complaint and have talked to many representatives over and over about the same thing since nothing is noted on the account. I have also mailed in my complaint but that was never received just like the faxes. There is no way to correspond through email and this is still ongoing and approaching 160 days which most likely will go on my credit report.

I have place a better business bureau complaint as well and am still waiting to hear back from also.

You can't just stop paying and expect Wells Fargo to go away. The terms and conditions were sent to you when you applied for the card. If you don't get this straightened out, it may affect your AMEX card too. You charged on the card and failed to pay it off. Time to get it worked out, in writing, with Wells Fargo.
