Wesley Chapel Nissan sold me a 2013 Altima on September 23. I left the dealership with the car believing everything was fine. On Monday I took the car in to have it detailed, on Tuesday I went in to return the keys to the car I traded in. Apparently everything was fine since I hadn't heard from them and spent so much time at the dealership on Monday evening while they cleaned my new car.
On Friday I got a call from the sales guy that I needed to come back in with my mother, who financed the car for me. I asked why and he couldn't tell me. He couldn't get the finance guy on the phone at that time and said he would call me back. On Saturday I got a call from another person at the dealership asking how I was likeing my car, I told her apparently there is an issue that I am not aware about and nobody has let me know what is going on. On Sunday, 1 week after I bought the car, I spoke to the finance guy FINALLY. He informed me there was an issue with the financing and that we needed to come in to go over the other options. I told him to figure it out and let me know because my mother is out of town for the week.
In the meantime, the $500 deposit that I gave on the car had cleared the bank. They apparently cashed the check even after speaking to the bank and finding there was an issue.
My mother came back into town and got a call from the salesman. She told him that I will not be paying the $4000, so I will have to return the car if that is what they want. His response "When can she bring the car back?" They were not willing to sit with me and my mother to go over other financing options without the $4000.
I proceeded to call the dealership and speak to the salesman who then transferred me to the manager. The manager told me that I have to bring the car back and asked when I could do it. I told him that I could not do it today because I had appointments and I will do it when I can. He said that he would send a tow truck to pick it up if he had to. I told him that I need the car I traded in back, so he couldn't do that. He said he would drop my car off and pick up their car. He then proceeded to tell me that if I did not come in today with the car that he would call the police and report it stolen. I told him that I have the papers to prove this is a sale in progress. I asked him why he hadn't tried other financing and his response was that they did, but the banks won't finance it because the car is financed in my mother's name and I am the driver. - LIE 1!
I then proceeded to ask him how the banks knew I was the driver and he said my mother told them - LIE 2. My mother never spoke to the bank until TODAY to find out what was going on.
The bank did say they would have financed the car for a certain amount. The problem was that the dealership was not coming off the price of the car AT ALL.
So, instead of trying to make a sale, they decided to take back a 2013 Altima with over 800 miles on it and return my car. I would not have tried to make a deal with anyone at Wesley Chapel Nissan after being lied to numerous times.
Also, when I went back in to turn in the other key to the car, I heard another salesman asking another couple for $4000. This couple clearly did not have $4000 as I did not. Who really has that kind of money just laying around?
I believe that they allow you to believe the deal is good until you "fall in love" with the car and then slam you with the extra expense in hopes of making you find a way to come up with the money.
I find it unacceptable that they phone the bank on Monday, the day after the deal, find out there is a problem, cash my deposit and then wait until the end of the week to tell me to come back in.
Wesley Chapel Nissan has NO professionalism whatsoever and I highly advise everyone to stay away from this company. Find another Nissan dealership, if you must have a Nissan, even if you have to drive a little further. It is NOT worth the drive!
