My husband and I started using this bank about years ago. We've always been cautious about out banking and even spending money. We never had a problem up until 3 weeks ago.

The way this bank works is: online you can see your statement. You have posted items and then "memo" posted items.

"Memo" posted means that something is waiting it clear. However, it is calculated into your available balance. It essentially tells you what you're looking at once everything does clear.

My husband got paid on friday- we had $15 the day before. I spent $5 on a pack of smokes. Some how West coast decided that they should charge us with NSF fees.

His pay check the next day was memo posted. LEGALLY! they have to take the deposite into account before they can clear any withdrawls or debits. They did the reverse. long story short- it's spiraled from one thing to another. I am fed up and have been on the phone every day this week speaking (now to the brank manager) about having this corrected. I am always assured "don't worry we will reverse this, and you won't be hit again with another NSF fee".... we now have to barrow money to pay bills and keep the account positive.

This is rediculas. They have yet to revers a fee- only to hit us with another one, because they hit us with fee after fee (after we didn't spend anything) causing our account to be negative.

our padded income in our checking account is gone, and it doesn't look like it's coming back. This is rediculas, in one week we have been hit with now over $500 in fees.

We're switching banks, I have the screen shots to show their business practices with our account, and intend to take legal action if they are no fixed tomorrow.

From the OP:

"LEGALLY! they have to take the deposite into account before they can clear any withdrawls or debits."

I'm not well versed in Oregon law, so can you tell me which law says that a bank must process credits before debits?

During this time, how did the online balance compare to the balance in your checkbook? This is the first question they will ask in court. Unless you can go in there and show your bookeeping, and demonstrate responsible account management, don't even bother.
