The movers were scheduled to pick up our goods between a 3 day window. They did not show up until 6 days later. We had to reschedule our flights change hotel reservations, all of which we were never reimbursed for. When the movers finally showed up there was only ONE! My neighbors had to help the mover load the truck. Of course this whole time we could never get anyone on the phone. When the goods reached Hawaii they sat on the wrong loading dock for at least a week before they were delivered. Once they were finally delivered we were missing 3 boxes of professional cooking supplies ( my husband is a sous chef), a DVD/CD/VHS RW Player, a box of personal files and older model laptop computer and they opened all of my husbands XBOX games and removed the discs.

Out of all of our belongings they took the most valuable pieces. This shows that they took their big greasy mitts and pawed through all of our possesinos. We feel very violated and of course they do not return our phone calls. And they never sent any paper work for us to sign. I know that there are not many moving companies to Hawaii but I do think you get what you pay for. If you do use these movers just know that they will open all of your boxes and go through your belongings and take what they like. Beware! If you have any questions or need some moving advice please contact me.

You didn't say if they actually delivered your missing things, only that "steps were taken to rectify it". Did your electronics and cooking equipment show up? Your stolen video games? Did they send you the paperwork you needed?

And why did it take this report to make them do anything? At least we know Rip Off Report is working as intended.

Of your missing personal papers, is there anything containing your SSN, bank info, or anything that can be used to steal your identity?

West Point Relocation Makes Good

West Point Relocation Makes Good

I submitted a posting on September 11th about my experience with West Point. Shortly thereafter I was contacted by Frank , a manager at West Point, who was very eager to remedy the situation. After speaking with Frank I do believe that he is extremely concerned about his reputation as well as that of his company. It was very refreshing to see that there are people in the business community that still believe in personal honor. I am very delighted to say that West Point has taken steps to rectify the situation. I do believe that if in the future we do have to move we would consider using West Point.

lawsuit

Normally, you can't sue movers for negligence. Try suing them for restraint of trade. Unless they can provide you with the missing boxes of your husband's work equipment, you can claim they are keeping him from being able to fully function in his job capacity. File stolen property reports for the other equipments, it's easy for you to prove the boxes were rifled through since the discs inside the games pacages are gone, but not the packages and the boxes they arrived in.
