william scott and associates SCAM, threatening arrest huntley , Illinois

    Today I recieved a very convincing phone call from a woman named Tina Rogers.  She told me that she represented the law firm William Scott & Associates.  She then preceeded to inform me that I was a week from having my drivers liesense suspended and 10 days from being arrested on check fraud and theft by decption charges.

    Mind you the person was very convincing to say the least, so much so I was preparing my employer to the reality that i may be going to jail.  She was very prepared for me, giving me previous addresses dating back 15-20 years, but did not give me the address of where i lived in the year in question.  She informed me that i was in debt $4660.00 due to interest and penalties coming from a pay day loan I took out in Nov 2005 in the amount of $2340.00.  

    She then made it seem like there was a way out of all of this for me, by giving me the option to settle the account today.  Believe me, i was on the line all the way.  She said that since the debt was so substancial, i could be relieved of all my worries if I paid $3000.00 by Visa or other credit card, but it had to be settled in the manner because it had to be an instant transaction to stop any warrants being processed.  

    To be fair, i considered trying to pay it, for the simple fact that my job requires me to have my DL.  After looking online I put 2 and 2 together and after about 5 minutes of searching and finding no accredidation from the BBB and numberous complaints on record against the "company", I was relieved and infuriated to realize I had almost been scammed.
