I purchased an item on March 19, 2009 from:

The item was listed as a "New Samsung i617 Blackjack II 2 Blue Unlocked Phone". That is what appeared to show up but the charging/synch port failed and when I called Samsung to register and find out the details on the warranty they tell me the IMEI Number: 357246011957725 is supposed to be a Red phone and the manufacturer warranty expired March 27, 2009 meaning it was manufactured over 1 year ago and was not new. The phone appears to have been cannibalized with another phone as evidenced by the mismatch with the Serial No/IMEI number and is certainly not a "new" phone.
It has failed due to old parts and since it is not a new phone is out of warranty.
