WLI Reservation Rewards, Webloyalty.com ripoff, unauthorized charge on my account, I was able to cancel but this seems very dangerous. They got me through buy.com and classmates.com. Don't join these! I am very careful and they still got me. Norwalk Connecticut

I was charged $7 by Web Loyalty - this was apparantly through buy.com. I had a similar experience through classmates.com. Be careful! I am very careful and they still got me. I was able to cancel (I hope) but I have informed my credit card company. I have also canceled all orders for now and the future with buy.com and classmates.com

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Watch those Privacy Policies like a hawk!

They can get away with this because of the wording in their "Privacy Policies". This is what keeps them out of Court. If you frequent and purchase something from Buy.com, it may very well happen again, because of the automated process.
When you purchase something through their site, your personal account information is automatically transfered to WLI. This occurs in your html mark-up, and will not be visible. If their privacy policy has not changed, and the automated process is still in tact you will remain vulnerable.
I imagine you probably changed your account informtion, but you might have to do this all over again. Check to see if they are willing to change their privacy policy or provide and "opt out" procedure for their customers.
The $7 charge is monthly from WLI*-ReservationRewards.com, so check your billing statements to see that they have really removed your membership.
A Privacy Policy which is not so "Private" claims they are customizing your shopping experience. They are keeping you up to date, and connected to special "Customer Benefits" or "Membership Benefits". If you are still unclear, when getting acquinted with a new site, write to the webmaster or support for verification. If they do not promise, absolutely 100% that your personal account information will not be given out, then you are at risk and vulnerable to potentially worse situations.
Glad to hear you got it taken care of--
hope this helps.
