World Voice Link INC When I wanted to cancel- instead of dealing with me- they hung up on me Bedford Texas

I'm being ripped off by World Voice Link Inc. When I got my phone bill on a Saturday, my mouth hit the floor when I saw the total- 115.98. It never had been that high.

It's usually about sixty dollars- that's all I can afford. When I looked to see what had made the bill that high, I noticed a $19.95 charge for a voice mail service monthly fee and a $29.95 sign up fee.

I never authorized voice mail for my phone. I have an answering machine- that's all I need and all I care for. When I called the following Monday, I talked to a man who seemed to be helpful in spite of the loud static and the many, many times I was put on hold.

When I told him that I wanted to cancel this service because I never authorized the voice mail- he told me my husband wanted the voice mail.

I preceeded to tell him that my name only was on the bill and they shouldn't have allowed him to do it. The bill is in my name period. I wanted to cancel it.

At that time, my husband walked in from his break and I confronted him with his decision to add things to my bill without discussing me first.

He told me that the woman he talked to said that the voice mail charge would be added to the phone bill if he activated the voice mail. When I asked him if he had ever activated it he told me "no".

The man on the phone then asked me if I would like to try it for a few months to see how I would like it and I told him no- that I want it canceled- I don't want to see it on my next phone bill.

He then told me that the only thing he could do was to reduce the $19.95 to $14.95. I told him again that I want it canceled.

He then preceeded to tell me that these were the best rates around for voice mail. I retorted that they weren't because Bellsouth was offering a voice mail fee of only $3.50 a month with no activation fee- but that's beside the point- I don't WANT voice mail.

With a sigh, he asked me if I wanted the cancellation number- if I was READY for the cancellation number. When I told him yes with pen and paper in my hand- CLICK! He hung up on me!!!

After thirty minutes on the phone- all I got was a dial tone.

When I was able to call again, a woman answered the phone and asked me if she could help me. I said "yes, I called before..." and she asked what my billing number was.

After I told her what my number was she told me to hold while she brought up my screen. After two minutes of waiting- I got another dial tone!! They keep hanging up on me!
