Ive worked for this company for the past 2 years, yes it is a scam and a good one at that. Its very easy to rip Americans and can be kinda fun to do. In the 2 years that i have worked for the company i probley riped off about 1000 people.
The phone book that they sell helps no one. The ad is the size of the tip of your thumb. Now they dont sell the ABI or American Business Index anymore. They turned their Dartmouth Operation to a phoney collection agency. You dont have to pay them, they have no contracts and there collection agency is phoney to they dont have a permit and have no legal pull. I no longer work for the company because I was not making good enough commision on stupid people that would pay 400 for a fake book. I hope this helps you

The Corporate Culture of Pavlos Angelatos and American Solutions Information AKA World Wide Source

Dear Genesta: Thank you for your candor, and a look into the inside workings of World Wide Source. We had no idea how prolific this scam actually was when I first visited the Rip Off Report in an attempt to learn who was pestering us. The whole process has been an eye-opener to say the least. But as I ruminate on the whole phenomenon of billing scams, it occurs to me that they only survive because most people honestly want to keep their accounts current (read people are honest here). As rude as these people can be, I don't think they would get very far in a society that lacked a Golden Rule or some similar code of ethics. But by intimating that THEY have been wronged, they get folks to pay up! How ironic, when the person pulling the scam is probably having fun in the process! Kindergarten is where we are supposed to learn that it is not fun to hurt people, but I guess that went out the window along with teaching spelling! [I have in my possession a letter from World Wide Source, signed Management with numerous misspellings (they even messed up my name once) that was sent to the Attorney General's office in response to my complaint!] I wouldn't sign my name to a document like that either! I must take umbrage with you on one point. Uninformed is not the same as stupid. Many fine people will extend trust to you in business. If you burn them it is you who are acting unwisely. Come to these same people with an idea of value and they will often help you achieve your dreams. That's my story -- and the story of many of the fine small-business people you enjoyed ripping off.
