After ordering Wu-Yi Tea from this company [and accepting the dietary supplement that I later opted out of] I canceled the order after receiving the 2nd box of tea. Several weeks later, I did get a refund credited to my credit card. Then, this past week, my credit card company [VISA] contacted me inquiring about a questionable charge to my card of $4.95 shown as "Web Access 8007127222". When researching it, I found it to be a charge from Barton Publishing Company of Brandon, SD.

When I contacted the company, I was referred to a website to cancel the subscription [that I unknowingly had been signed up for]. I tried unsuccessfully to cancel the subscription [which was by the way, not refundable]. I researched on the web and found others had been given the run-a-round also when trying to cancel. The next morning I was able to finally get a live person to talk to and he also tried unsuccessfully to cancel my subscription. He did make a report to the company and told me they would have to cancel it manually and to call back if the charges appeared on my credit card again. I will have to wait for the next credit cycle to determine if this transpired. This $4.95 charge was for nothing more than an occasional Email that I simply deleted as junk mail since I didn't want it to begin with.

Then, yesterday, May 20,2009, we got our credit card statement and there was another charge to CW-Membership 8009895907 in the amount of $9.95. I found this to be a membership in Comprehensive weight loss and again was an occasional email regarding dietary foods, etc. that I had been simply deleting. I contacted them today and got that monthly recurring charge canceled.

Yesterday, I filed a complaint with the FTC regarding the unknown or unsolicited membership with Barton Publishing. Today I called them and updated the unsolicited membership with Comprehensive Weight loss.

This whole scenario in, my estimation, began with Wu Yi Source of not being "up front" with the monthly recurring costs associated with the "free" [at sign-up] dietary publications. This "low cost" diet tea offer turns out to be very expensive in the long run if the consumer is not aware of the additional monthly recurring charges that ensue. I found no redeeming qualities in their diet tea and it is assumed by me the tea and the add on subscriptions are presented and designed in such a way as to confuse the unsuspecting consumer who after all was only wanting to trial the tea to see if it worked for him/her. I can reasonably assume that a mutual agreement exists among Wu Yi Source and Barton Publishing, and Comprehensive Weight Loss and I also assume Wu Yi Source receives a portion of the monies charged and collected by the Publishing companies.

I would recommend that anyone who subscribes to the Wu Yi Source diet Tea offering be prepared to lose weight from their financial resources if not from their body!
