I had the same thing happen to me. I signed up for one vin report for $2.95 and they said nothing about any $29.95 charge. but low and behold a $29.95 charge showed up on my credit card.
My Credit union is going to take care of it. but I did have to have my card shut off and had another issued.  I just wanted to let others know that www.carvinhistory.com really does this stuff. And when you try to get your money back by calling them it sounds like the same guy that answers the phone and he is really rude.
please be careful they will take your money and keep taking your money.
Wow!  things are really getting weird out there with internet scammers makes you want to not purchase anything off the net. We need some internet police to go after these fraudulent companies.

More After Transaction Marketing BS Companies

AUTHOR: Tagurit - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, March 26, 2012

It's called "after transaction marketing" where an offer is presented with the terms in small letters often next to a button that says "Yes take me to my report".   Most people don't pay attention to all the little small print on the screen and click the "yes" button thereby signing themselves up for a service they neither wanted nor may have realized they signed up for.  It's a cheesy low life way for a company who can't offer legitimate value to make a buck off of the unaware consumer by attempting to obfuscate the real intention of their offer.   This is not the only company that does this - Intelius is a prime example.  Several lawsuits have been filed against Intelius and won in favor of the consumer for deceptive marketing practices.  Your best option is to dispute the charges as soon as possible on your CC and make sure to pay more attention in the future when buying services online to make sure you know what you might be opting into.

Why the internet police?....No fraud here, just a failure to exercise due diligence before giving out your payment information.
