I purchased an extended warranty through Wynns Extended Care for a Used Vehicle that i got through credit acceptance and my car had to be repaired for engine work which is covered through my contract they left me without a vehicle for a whole week and wouldnt reimburse me. the process to get a claim approve is very lenghty and they do nothing for your inconvenience dont ever get an extended warranty with these people. and they deal with a 3rd party to inspect your vehicle which can take up to another 24-48 hours

It is not true that they do what they can do so that you are not inconveineced. I had to pay out of my pocket for something that should have been covered and they only cover up to 150.00 so once that is use up which would be in a week with rental rates at 30.00 a day then anything else you have to pay. Which it took my car about 2 1/2 weeks to get fixed with sending parts back and forth and waiting for parts to come in and the piece that was inoperable on my car was my valve was bent instead of them putting a new one on they sent it to a machine shop to get fixed to be put right back in my car.

Wynn's Warranty Inspection Process

AUTHOR: Greg - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 02, 2008

Wynn's Warranty is one of only 3 warranty companies that are allowed to sell service contracts on the Credit Acceptance program. Credit Acceptance vehicles are typically older vehicles with very high mileage. Credit Acceptance is a program that allows customers who have credit challenges to get guaranteed credit approval to purchase a vehicle regardless of payment history. The coverages of the warranty as well as the price of the warranty that is sold to these customers is dictated by Credit Acceptance...not by Wynn's or either of the other two companies.

Because Credit Acceptance is financing the car as well as the warranty, they want to make sure that it is limited coverage and inexpensive so that their exposure and risk is limited. Credit Acceptance also wishes for the vehicles to have a service contract, because there is an old addage in the business that states, "If the car ain't runnin', the customer ain't payin'." The service contract is designed to cover major "catestrophic" repairs that way the customer is not forced to make a decision of whether to make their monthly payment or fix their car. The lender wants the customer to keep paying their payments.

The Wynn's warranty does offer the consumer a rental car allowance to mitigate the inconvenience when their vehicle is in the shop. It is also standard in the industry for warranty companies to use third party inspection companies to go out and investigate the damage. If you stop and think about it, that's the way it should be. If the warranty company sent out their own inspectors to look at the vehicle and assess the damage there could be corruption in that process. A representative of the company would have a vested interest in finding a reason not to pay the claim. A third party inspector has no vested interest in whether the claim is paid or not. They are truly there to give an unbiased professional opinion of what went wrong and if the technician's diagnosis is accurate.

While it is true that it can take an extra day or so for a third party inspector to arrive, the warranty company usually allows an extra day of rental car allowance to allow for the delay. They also allow an extra day of rental car allowance in the event that there is a delay in getting parts due to availability and shipping.
