Yellow Pages United is a deceptive online and/or print* business yellow pages advertising directory charging $396.00 for what ever other leading online and/or print business yellow pages directory lists for NO charge to advertisers.
I returned a card requesting the update of business address to an existing FREE online business directory listing.
In the fine print, "If you advertise in your local phone company's yellow pages and accept this offer, this directory listing will be in addition to your existing yellow pages advertising. This is a nation business yellow page listing solicitation. A listing in www.yellowpagesunited.com will be included with each yellow page listing of $396.00. ... ".
What does "Local Phone Company" mean?  Yellow Pages United states, it is a national directory. No, I do NOT advertise in any "Local" phone company directory.
All my business IS local however, "Word-of-Mouth" and a sign in my yard advertising has serviced all my needs. Yellowpagesunited mailings look a lot like the printed local Yellow Pages directory that used to sit on your desk. IF I knew yellowpagesunited was strictly a national directory, why would I want to list in it?
Now I may be contacting the FTC and my lawyer to stop YellowPagesUnited from harassing for the forseeable future.
 .........
*print = It's hard for me to tell where the lies end and truth may begin regarding yellow pages united's directory, whether it is affiliated with any printed publication(s) or is strictly posted online.

Been in business 28+ years and can remember receiving those same rip off post cards for the last 20+ years or so. IN THE SMALL PRINT, They usually say that when you agree to the "FREE" list someplace you ALSO agree to a paid listing someplace else, in this case $396. The paid ad is usually on the back of the free ad. I get those same phone calls at the office where they want to "verify" my address and phone number for my "FREE" listing someplace. Probably the same bunch or some group similar. The ones on the phone were famous for cutting and splicing your answers into something that sounded like you accepted THEIR terms and prices. I just hang up. REMEMBER, NOTHING is "free".
