I saw an offer for anti-aging cream online. It stated $4.95 for "trial offer." I decided to try it and began to order with my debit card, but then they came up with another offer for $4.94 for a "trial offer of their eye cream. I ordered and paid with my debit care online on 1/9/16. A few days later I received the two sample creams. There was no packing slip, receipt, or anything else in the little box they were shipped in, other than directions on how to use. Today I looked at my bank statement, and was horrified to see that my checking account was debited for two charges of $84.95 and $81.37. I finally was able to reach someone at the company to talk to after being on hold for a long time. I was then shocked to learn that the charges were for what I had already received.

The person I talked to was very cold and obviously used to the same complaint being made. He just kept repeating that I could not return anything already opened and there was nothing he could do. I was confused as to why I was charged this outrageous new charge. He said that what I received was what I was being charged for. The "trial offer" was that I could have returned the "samples" unopened or within 2 weeks.

I am outraged. I repeatedly asked him for someone to talk to in the billing or complaint dept. He said there was nobody else to talk to. Finally, after I told him over and over I wanted the charges removed from my bill, he said that he could have 50% taken off my debit. Whaaaaaaaat??

So that is the scam? I told him I was not happy about this, and that this would probably not be the last of it for me, but I would be looking for it in my bank statement this week.
